Alright, McCormick thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

The most meaningful project I’ve gotten to be a part of as a creative/musician is that of my own 4 piece band, Monk is King. This project is most meaningful to me because it is where I am most vulnerable/share the most of my emotions over music. It is also most meaningful because it is the project I have gotten to share the most with other people and relate with.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I am originally a jazz musician from Texas and I play in a very multi faceted 4 piece musical group known as Monk is King (estd. Fayetteville, AR 2017)

Playing all variety of music from country to hip-hop, jazz to classical, while also interweaving our own unique voice and musicalities, we deliver a high energy and funky show that gets people up and dancing as well as tells a story.

I think what sets us apart from other groups is each member brings to the table their own unique set of influences, our ability to cohesively marry variety of genres to our show, and lastly our vocal contrast between members sounds great!

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)

They are very volatile forms of currency and potentially a ponzi scheme waiting to happen. But they are also a potential for artists to brand, sell, and and create value around their art.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

I wish I had known to save up for and occasionally purchase production/content creation equipment because it is such a big part of our industry.
