Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mayur Phadtare. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mayur, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.
We are a visual content creation company. One of our focus areas is creating imagery (still and motion) for product manufacturers. In this niche we are seeing a shift towards using 3D product visualization from traditional product photography and video.

Mayur, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My background:
I came to the United States to study for a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Supply Chain Management. After completing my degree I worked with Cummins Diesel Engines for 8 years in manufacturing and supply chain.
In late 2016 I felt the urge to start something of my own. Nashbox Studios started off as a small photography venture, focussed on professional headshots and corporate even photography. Today we still provide those services, but our growth lies in solving the problems of product manufacturers.
What problems do we solve for our clients?
Having worked in supply chain, I understand the difficulties to procure adequate supplies of products in time. One of the issues we noticed working with product clients was that many times during a shoot, certain items were not available for many reasons – the item was yet to be manufactured, it’s appearance was inconsistent, or it did not ship on time.
3D product visualization can help solve these problems. This is essentially a computer generated image creation process which eliminates/reduces the need to have physical products, thereby addressing supply related issues. It also is more cost effective as compared to traditional photography for large volumes.
What am I most proud of?
I am proud of my team. We are a small group of freelancers located in three countries and four time zones. Within a short period of time we have managed to gain global companies as clients. We actively research the latest technologies in our field and make our clients aware of how these new technologies can benefit them.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our resolve to educate our clients on the latest technologies in our industry has helped build our reputation. We spend a large amount of our revenue in researching latest trends, purchasing new equipment and providing clients with examples of how we can create better content for them.
We are currently researching solutions in the fields of live 3D viewing, virtual fitting as well as marketing solutions for the metaverse.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
In mid 2019 we had just begun on our 3D product visualization journey. We were still learning the technology, understanding how it can benefit our clients, how to price the services etc. We had convinced a few companies to give us small projects, which we completed successfully.
In January of 2020 we were contacted by a large sports goods manufacturer after a friend put in a good word for us. The catch – since we did not yet have an extensive portfolio we had to do a test project with them. We worked on the project for 2-3 weeks and were waiting for their approval. In late February we were told that they were happy with our work. We provided them a proposal for their requirements.
Around the same time, news of Covid started making headlines. Some countries in Asia were starting to lock themselves down from the rest of the world. I was worried that this will create an unpleasant economic situation and this company will cancel the project.
We received no news from them till the second week of March. Finally, they said the project was a go. And 2-3 days later the global Covid shutdown was announced. That week we received around 15 calls from our existing clients to cancel all active projects. And one call from the accounting department of the sports company to get our banking information to transfer the initial payment. That project kept us going as a company for the next 3-4 months, without which we may have had to shut down.
Today this company is still one of our largest clients and we do much more for them – 3D rendering, animation, videos and image retouching.
