We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mayra Fonseca a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Mayra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

During the hardest times caused by Covid – I was in need of extra income. I always knew I was meant to have my own business. God gave me this business plan for a reason, all I had to do was execute it. I combined by knowledge of running a business with my love for flowers! A forever growing business of love. Love can be celebrated any & everyday with flowers for any occasion. Ramos Buchon is a Luxury twist to your regular flower shop with origins in Mexican Buchona Culture. With luxury wrapping designs, and luxurious large crowns, diamonds, and full customizations to make any order extra special! With Ramos Buchon Florist having a huge online presence, I knew it would be the perfect business endeavor to promote on social medias! With a lot of OG florists have 200K+ followers on Instagram! Making beautiful bouquets is my passion, and I put my heart into everything I do!

Howdy! My name is Mayra Fonseca. I am First Generation Mexican American. I am proud of my culture & try to honor it in everything I do. Ramos Buchon Style Bouquets are a Luxury Florist movement with origins in Mexican Buchona Culture. Ramos by Mayra La Buchona offers Luxury-Style Bouquets wrapped in Luxury Wrapping Paper, decorated with Large Crowns, Diamonds, and fully customizable to every clients vision and desire! What sets me apart from other florists, is my attention to detail & my willingness to go above & beyond what the clients expects, which has gained me a lot of traction in my local community & many returning VIP clients. Another thing that sets Ramos by Mayra La Buchona apart from the rest is our care for the community & understanding that times are tough yet people still deserve to afford beautiful bouquets for their anniversary, birthday, quinceañera, retirement, baby showers, etc. With this in mind, we offer a Pay Half Now/Half Later Payment Option for clients who book 1-2 weeks in advance. Half payment is due before confirming order & remaining balance is due the morning of pickup or delivery! I am most proud of being able to be a small part of my clients special occasions! And putting smiles on peoples faces & memories in their hearts that will last a lifetime!

Have you ever had to pivot?

Hustling, Healing, and Grieving. Have you ever had to show up & do your best with a broken heart? At the prime of my business, on March 8, 2025, I was informed that my father had been murdered. It completely broke my mind, my heart & my spirit. It was very hard to focus on my work, and even harder to show up and try to give my best to my clients, that deserve nothing less than the best from me. I’ve always been the type to never stop & to always be on go no matter what happens, but this year has definitely taught me the importance of taking a break. I had to learn to be able to pause and take a step back from what I love, to be able to heal & take this downtime to educate myself on how to better my business & where I was failing & where I needed to grow. This break was the best thing that I could have done for myself, my business & my clients. I came back stronger & better than ever! We shouldn’t be ashamed to take a step back & take it one day at a time for our mental health.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

One of my favorite marketing strategies is doing giveaways! They are the best way to give back to the community while simultaneously promoting your business! I love all things spooky so on Halloween 2024, I decided to do the Largest Spooky Basket Giveaway! With so many amazing local businesses to choose from, I was honored to collab with 20 of the best small businesses in Northwest Arkansas with each business contributing amazing products or services such as Auto Mobile Detailing, Free Tattoo, Chocolate-Covered Strawberries, Pedicure, Full-Set, Massage, Facials & so much more!! At the time, I was nervous & a bit afraid of the unknown, afraid of doing it all alone, afraid it wouldn’t succeed, afraid I’d fail. Regardless, I took the risk, and didn’t let my fears hold me back from accomplishing something amazing. This Giveaway ended up generating over 80,000+ views on Instagram!!! With every small business gaining over 100+ new followers! In the end, the risk was worth the outcome! Don’t be afraid to take that risk you’ve been contemplating , it just might turn your life around!!
