We recently connected with Mayra Ayala and have shared our conversation below.
Mayra, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The vision and idea were always there I just needed the push to get started. With the support of my family, I took the leap and dedicated myself 100% to bringing this business to life. I started with a mix of excitement, fear, and confusion, but I followed my heart and poured every ounce of effort, passion, and dedication into something I truly believed in.
Living in Houston, a city full of opportunity and creativity, I noticed that while there were countless event services, mobile bar service wasn’t something you saw often. Around 2018–2019, I stepped into this industry as one of the first mobile bar services in the city, not knowing if it would take off and starting right before a pandemic made the challenge even bigger.
But with the grace of God, hard work, and consistency, we built something real. Today, almost 8 years later, we’re fully booked year-round and blessed to have a team of 10+ talented bartenders who help make every event possible. None of this would be where it is without them.
What started as an idea turned into a purpose and now into a growing business that continues to evolve, serve, and celebrate with our community.

Mayra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started in the hospitality and restaurant industry at 18 years old, and 15 years later, I’m still here because nothing else has ever motivated me the way this industry does. I’ve worked office jobs and corporate roles, but I’m a hands-on person. I need to be moving, creating, solving, and staying busy. Sitting behind a desk was never for me.
I’m the type of person who takes on more than necessary, adds extra tasks, and sometimes stresses myself out by trying to perfect every detail but I genuinely love the adrenaline of getting the job done. That feeling of accomplishment after a long day, when I can say, “Yeah, I did that!” that’s what drives me.
My craft is adding a special touch to everything I do, and that’s what defines my business. My clients come to me for that customized experience the custom cocktails, the drink menus, the beverage napkins, the little details that make their event feel thoughtfully created. When they walk up to the bar, I want them to instantly feel the effort, love, and intention behind it.
Over the years, I’ve been part of so many beautiful memories, and it’s been amazing to know that something I built just a hardworking girl who never expected anything in return has brought me so much love, support, and incredible clients. I wouldn’t change a single thing about my journey. I carry it all with a heart full of gratitude.
And to my clients and future clients: I will never stop giving my best. I will continue working endlessly to become better, bigger, and stronger always striving to elevate your experience and bring your vision to life.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Most of my social media audience is made up of real supporters my clients, friends, family, and people who truly know who we are. In the beginning, it was hard trying to get our business out there, but from day one, the support was genuine. My very first bookings were from family and friends, and their guests would see our work at their events… and from there, one booking turned into another.
I’ve never bought followers, paid for promotions, or relied on influencers to promote us. Everything has grown from people seeing our real, physical work and from the love my friends and family show with every mention, like, and repost. I know exactly who has been there since the beginning, and I’m forever grateful for the people who continue to support our journey.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Not everyone has the same heart as you. I was raised with love, respect, and humility, and I’ve learned that not everyone carries those same core values. I’ve trusted people I shouldn’t have. I’ve given opportunities, shared business ideas, offered guidance, and given others the same kind of push I once needed only to end up feeling unappreciated.
There were moments when it felt like my work was being copied or like people were trying to recreate exactly what I built. But with time, I learned something important: it’s okay. People may betray you, talk down on you, or try to imitate you but at the end of the day, your work ethic, your heart, and your consistency will always speak louder than anything else.
What’s meant for you can’t be taken from you. And what you built with integrity will always stand on its own.
