We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maykenhistory. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maykenhistory below.
Maykenhistory, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
My love for music has been inside of me since I was born. It started at home with my mother playing endless music from Hip-Hop & R&B and jazz. I would literally wake up and go to sleep to the sound of music. As a kid, I would put on mini performances in my room reciting my favorite artist like Lil Wayne, Drake, J-Cole & Meek Mill. I always wanted to one day pursue the dream of being one of the greatest artist EVER! May seem far fetched for some but I know it’s possible because of the amount of hard work and time I put into my craft. I t didn’t take until I was 22 that I actually decided to take music seriously and pursue my dream. Once I begun the process, I instantly fell in love!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who have not heard of me, I go by the artist name “Maykenhistory” for a reason. From day 1 I told my self that if I pursue my dream of being one of the greats, my legacy will be known for making history from something I’ve created! I first got introduced to this industry through my circle of friends and family that pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone. Without those people I wouldn’t be where I am today and where I see my career going! I am also the owner of Champion Digital Solutions LLC, a digital marketing agency, that provides full service assistance to business owners, corporations and more!
I would say I am most proud of my growth as in artist! From my very first project “The Legacy Continues” yo my most recent “Houston, We Have a Problem!” I have displayed my growth in all areas of my music. I’ve learned so much from recoding, mixing and mastering myself that I’ve learned the actual craft and process that’s behind the scenes that people don’t see! I’ve worked hard on improving my lyrical substance, flows, cadences and more that it’s elevating my production of music. Lastly, I am proud of the brand that I’ve created within myself and my company. Seeing the ups and downs get rough but to know the end goal is so much sweeter keeps me going!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and entrepreneur is seeing the daily growth and support. As a new artist in an industry that full of other talent it’s hard to do it all by yourself and put something out to the world and feel like no one supports your creation. To be honest, that was a HUGE fear of mine when I first started out! It was very hard getting out of that mind frame but once I surpassed it and found my passion for music, I blocked out the noise and just worked on improving!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I believe NFTs are the future of music! Especially, for artist like myself building their music brand and presence. It opens up a new stream of revenue for the artist and adds a new audience as well. I have actually created my own NFT Collection called “Mary Jane’s Triplets” aka “THE MJT’s” which is focused in the cannabis industry! I plan to be very involved in the NFT & Crypto world in the future so stay tuned.
