We were lucky to catch up with Maycon Devon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Maycon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I started my music career in 2022, with my first song, ‘All Your Fault,’ released on November 17th. Today, November 24th, I’m celebrating its anniversary, and it also marks the release of the sped-up version. The song focuses on relationships, a theme I often explore in my writing, and I’ll share more about that in a bit. Looking back, I feel starting later wouldn’t have been ideal because I’d have lost even more time. Starting earlier, though, could have put me in a much better position by now—I’d have more knowledge, a bigger fan base, more followers, and more songs to my name. Right now, I’ve only released one song, but I’m actively working on new music. Starting sooner would have helped me refine my craft earlier and build more momentum in my career.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who may not know me, I take great pride in being open about who I am, who I strive to be, and who I will always remain. I don’t let anyone bring me down—I stay on top, always pushing forward.
I got into the music industry by teaching myself through YouTube tutorials. I looked up how to release music, searched for the best music distributors, learned how to create song covers, and even figured out how to make music from scratch. YouTube is an incredible resource—you can find a tutorial for just about anything these days.
Beyond music, I love entertaining people. On my YouTube channel, I share song covers, makeup videos (especially tutorials), and vlogs. It’s all about connecting with my audience and sharing my passions.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
If you ask me on a superficial layer, I would say NFTs are so stupid and a waste of money. But if you ask me on a deeper level, I would say that it is still wasteful money, but it is a problem of a trendy issue. Just because it was popular when it was first known and talked about, wealthy people would purchase these things for insane amounts of money just for a little profile picture.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think society as a whole should be less judgmental of independent artists who are free-spirited and helpful. It’s also important to recognize, especially nowadays with the rise of AI, the value of an artist’s work. Their creations are original and take time, love, and dedication to craft in the perfect way. Supporting and appreciating this effort is essential for fostering a thriving creative ecosystem
