Our mission at May Martinez Photography is to provide meaningful, timeless memories for new mothers and their families. As a photographer and podcaster, I’ve always been passionate about capturing the beauty of motherhood and the unique journey each family embarks on. This mission is personal to me because I understand how fleeting those early moments with a newborn can be, and how important it is to preserve them. Through my podcast and photography, I aim to offer not just services, but support and guidance to first-time moms. I want them to feel empowered, informed, and celebrated during one of the most transformative experiences of their lives. It’s deeply fulfilling to know that my work can bring comfort, joy, and lasting memories to families.

Hello! My name is May Martinez, and I’m a photographer and podcast host passionate about capturing the beauty and emotion of life’s most precious moments. My journey into photography began as a personal exploration of creativity and self-expression, but it quickly grew into a full-fledged business when I realized how much joy I felt helping others preserve their memories through beautiful images.

I specialize in maternity, newborn, and family photography. I love working with first-time moms and families, offering them not just stunning photos but also a warm and welcoming experience. I understand that these are some of the most significant moments in their lives, and my goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere that allows them to fully enjoy the process. Whether it’s documenting the excitement of pregnancy or capturing the first precious days of a newborn, I want my clients to leave with beautiful memories, not just pictures.

What sets me apart is the personal connection I build with each family. I take the time to understand their unique needs, personalities, and desires, offering custom session ideas and creative options to ensure every experience is special and tailored to them. I provide everything from props to outfits, so my clients can just show up and enjoy the moment without any stress.

Aside from photography, I’m incredibly proud of my podcast, May Martinez Photography, which I launched three months ago. The podcast is designed for first-time moms, offering valuable information and support as they navigate this exciting new stage of their lives. Each week, I feature professional panelists who are experts in various areas related to pregnancy, motherhood, and child-rearing. We discuss important topics and provide helpful insights to guide moms through their journey.

What I’m most proud of is being able to offer not only beautiful images but also a sense of community and support. Whether it’s through photography or the podcast, I’m here to ensure that moms feel seen, heard, and celebrated. I want every client and listener to walk away feeling supported and inspired.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Using AI programs for image editing has been a game-changer for me. These tools allow me to save a significant amount of time that I used to spend manually editing large volumes of images. In the past, the sheer number of photos I had to edit would consume countless hours, limiting the time I could dedicate to other aspects of my business or even personal life. Now, with AI, I can achieve the same high-quality results in much less time, which not only boosts my efficiency but also gives me the freedom to enjoy more moments outside of work.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What helped me build my reputation within the market is a combination of consistently delivering high-quality work, building personal connections with my clients, and being responsive to their needs. Early on, I focused on creating a seamless experience for clients—from the moment they reached out to the final delivery of their images. I also made it a point to be accessible, offer guidance, and go the extra mile to ensure they felt comfortable and valued.

Additionally, word-of-mouth has been incredibly powerful. Many of my clients come from referrals, and I believe that’s because I make each session personalized and enjoyable, which creates lasting relationships. Having a strong online presence, especially through social media and my podcast, has also played a role in establishing trust and visibility. I think people appreciate the authenticity and passion behind my work, and that has helped set me apart in the market.
