Maxwell, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Growing up in South Florida, my parents exposed me to everything as a kid. For as long as i had been playing sports my parents also placed me in a summer camp where we would do theatre performances on stage for the broward county center of performing arts every summer up until the end of middle school. While at this summer camp, i would attain a large number of lead roles in plays such as Aladdin, High School Musical 2, Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie and Camp Rock. My parents realized the talent that i had and put me in acting classes where my acting coach would get me signed to my a talent agency known as stellar talent in South Florida. All throughout middle school i would model and act and even appear as a guest star on a tv show on lifetime, but then i decided to focus on sports once i got to high school. While in college as a D1 Athlete at Vanderbilt University, i know that i still wanted to get back into creative work and acting again soon, but i just never had the time while in college. After going to rookie minicamp with the Tennessee Titans and attaining my masters degree i was able to reconnect with a talent agency that i had family ties with and started attending acting classes again this past May. Going back into acting classes and reconnecting with other creatives reinforced that arts and entertainment was for me. In the last 6 months i have booked 10 commercials with 3 principal roles as well as 2 microshorts on a webseries, a guest star role in a short film as well as a lead role in an independent film that is being shot in St Croix, U.S Virgin Islands. I have also appeared in 4 music videos for major latin and hip hop artists.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, My name is Maxwell Worship, i am a professional actor and athlete based out of South Florida. I recent graduated from Vanderbilt University where i attained a masters degree in Learning Diversity and Urban Studies. I also played football at Vanderbilt University in the SEC and attended rookie minicamp with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. I recently signed a contract with Canadian Football League team in Canada and will be playing with the Hamilton Tigercats this upcoming summer. As much as i have a passion for the game of football, i also have a passion for acting and arts and entertainment. Growing up, i performed in front of hundreds on stage at the broward county center of performing arts in South Florida as a part of the “Next Stop Broadway” summer program. I appeared on America’s Most Wanted as a guest star in 2013. After coming out of Rookie minicamp, i recently i have appeared in multiple commercials for Hulu, Apple, Amazon Prime, Stanton Optical, City Girls, and recently got booked for an independent film known as “Silent Drift” that will be shooting in the U.S Virgin Islands. I also recently modeled and did fashion runway for a bridal and marketing company known as “Lipstick Royalty” as well as Al Capone. The one thing i am most proud of myself is that i continue to utilize all my talents. I dont allow myself to get placed into a box. I dont allow myself to be categorized as just one thing. I think its important as human beings to understand and know that we are not one dimensional beings. We should utilize all of our talents and skills to utmost fullest. I have been blessed with a great work ethic, drive and also talent in a lotnof different things and i will continue to showcase those things. My dream is to one day bring my mom to the oscars with me on the red carpet after having featured a booked a supporting or lead role in an oscar nominated film. And i will do just that.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being an artist/creative allows you to express yourself fully and unapologetically. I feel like as a kid growing up we’re constantly being judged and with todays day and age of social media we’re constantly playing a comparison game. Stepping into my creative flow has allowed me to break out of my shell in a beautiful way that doesnt allow someone to be able to just define me as one thing or another. I think creative work is beautiful because its a form of expression that is authentic and can be inspirational if done the right way. Creative work is fun. Acting is fun. Dancing and singing is fun as well.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Growing up i acted and played football. Following high school, i managed to recieve a D1 football scholarship to play at Vanderbilt University. Following college i went to attend rookie minicamp with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans but was not signed to a team. After coming back home from camp i reconnected with a talent agency that i had family ties with and my first booking was a music video with the city girls. The following month i was booked as a featured extra for a hulu commercial and havent looked back since in the world of acting arts and entertainment.
