We recently connected with Maxine Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Maxine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew that I first wanted to pursue my creative passions at a quite young age. Some of my earliest memories of myself singing were in the back of my mother’s car, belting out ‘How Will I Know?’ by Whitney Houston (still one of my favorite songs). My family has always been musical in the sense that whenever a gathering was taking place or a road trip was taken, there would be a soundtrack to accompany it. My father would fill my ears with sounds from the past, like the famous girl groups and crooners of Motown. These memories stuck with me heavily, and I have tried to encapsulate them within my music. My sound is a mix of jazz, pop, and R&B. It’s a blend of vintage and modern. I love what I do and what I create, and I hope that my music touches people in the best way possible.

Maxine, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Maxine Davis, born and raised in South Texas, and currently residing in Southern California.
I am a Singer-Songwriter, Healer, and Author. Music has been a constant presence in my life for as long as I can remember, and what I find most beautiful about it is its ability to evoke a number of emotions. For me, songwriting is like baring a piece of one’s soul for all to see. It’s a vulnerable but liberating process. I’ve been fortunate to perform at unforgettable venues across the United States, grace platforms like MTV, and have my songs featured in films. I’m determined to maintain this momentum, aspiring for my voice to reach and touch people worldwide.
My healing journey commenced in 2012, which led to the establishment of my own healing company, Crystal Eyes Healing. I embarked on this path with the intention of positively impacting as many lives as possible through my offerings. Since its inception, I’ve been successful in providing individuals worldwide with the knowledge needed to awaken their inherent healing abilities.
In 2012, I reached a pivotal moment in my life. Struggling with an autoimmune disorder, I found myself exhausted and disoriented. Despite trying various modalities, I couldn’t seem to sustain a normal day-to-day existence. Fast forward to 2015, I began delving into holistic healing methods and their benefits. Reiki captured my interest, and I instinctively knew it was what I needed. After my first Reiki session, I was moved to tears. It felt like a heavy burden had been lifted from my soul. I made a promise to myself that I wanted to extend this sense of peace and hope to others. That same year, I became attuned to all three levels of Usui Reiki and commenced conducting sessions and teachings across the Los Angeles and South Texas areas.
As an intuitive guide, my purpose is to illuminate the inherent gifts within my clients. Through holding and sharing space, I aspire to inspire personal growth on their remarkable journey called life.
Through the exploration and development of my healing practice, I was led to create annual books tailored to each of the 12 zodiac signs. Each book provides intuitive guidance to help navigate the upcoming year with ease. You can exclusively find these books on Amazon.
Whether it’s through my music, performances, healing sessions, or books, my ultimate goal with all my offerings is to leave people in a better state than they were when they arrived. I’ve personally experienced the transformative power of vibrational energy, and it’s precisely what I aim to share through it all.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Artists and creatives truly make the world go round. Without their passionate expression, life would be lackluster. Artists and creatives give people voices when they find it difficult to find the right words to express themselves. Keeping this in mind, society should consider the establishment of accessible scholarships, grants, artist residencies, and housing, as these would help those who are skilled in their creative field but lack funds or housing to fully invest in their career.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
A book I read over a decade ago, right at the start of my spiritual journey and around the time I began taking my music seriously, was “The Celestine Prophecy.” I recommend it to those who enjoy new-age books and are searching for guidance when navigating an uncertain path. It’s a story of awakening and personal growth.
Within the book, you’ll discover powerful messages about aligning with the natural flow of life, releasing the weight of the past, and pursuing your life’s mission. For artists and creatives, the journey often involves a continuous cycle of moments of pride followed by periods of self-doubt. Recognizing that life is an ongoing cycle filled with valuable lessons is key. This insight can help you stay focused on your goals and all the greatness that awaits.
