We were lucky to catch up with Maximilian Seed recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Maximilian, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

Taking a risk has been pivotal in shaping my current opportunities, lifestyle, and relationships. My journey began at 18, right after high school graduation, when I dared to move out of my hometown. This decision marked the beginning of my pursuit of the seemingly impossible dream of becoming an actor and creative in the entertainment industry.

The amalgamation of worry, joy, freedom, and countless sleepless nights became the essence of my journey, all made possible by betting on myself and embracing the risk of striving for the life I passionately desired. Despite the inevitable sacrifices, I hold steadfast in my conviction, and if given the chance, I would wholeheartedly take that same leap of faith again. This experience has not only defined my professional trajectory but has also instilled in me the resilience to continue navigating challenges with unwavering determination.

Maximilian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Born in the small town of Davis, California, my journey into the world of acting was sparked by a lack of representation for artists in my community. Despite the prevailing professions in my hometown, I found my true passion in the glamour of cinematic stories and the allure of Los Angeles. The dream solidified at the age of 12 when I auditioned in Orange County, catching the attention of an acting coach who became my mentor.

From the age of 15, I navigated the audition process, facing the instant rejections and competitive atmosphere. Fueled by a relentless pursuit of my dreams, I chose to forgo traditional schooling and set my sights on becoming a actor. The journey, filled with auditions, challenges, and continuous learning, became my singular focus throughout high school.

Over the years, I’ve had remarkable opportunities, including a short film accepted at Cannes in 2023 and lead roles in three feature films. These experiences exposed me to diverse working environments, co-stars, crews, and locations, fostering a deep appreciation for the industry’s richness. Amidst the challenges, my commitment to being the hardest worker in the room and adhering to daily reminders—patience, persistence, and perseverance—kept me grounded.

As I step into the New Year, I aim to leverage the successes of the past year to sustain and elevate my trajectory. My journey is a testament to the power of dedication and a reminder that dreams, when pursued with unwavering determination, can materialize into extraordinary achievements.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My creative journey is centered on inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds, urging them to fearlessly chase their happiness. Through my craft, I aim to evoke emotions that offer solace and an escape from daily challenges. My overarching goal is to attain success that enables me to support my family—parents, sister, future children, and wife—providing them with a more accessible and comfortable path than the one I navigated.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic threw an unexpected curveball into the plans I had set for myself. Two months before the pandemic hit, I had secured an agent and manager, delving into auditions and modeling. However, the momentum abruptly came to a halt, and as a 19-year-old with no income, I found myself returning home for a year.

This period became a profound test of my resilience and unwavering determination to navigate the challenges that come with pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. It served as a defining moment, showcasing just how resolute I was in overcoming obstacles and emphasizing the extent of my commitment to obtaining my aspirations.
