We recently connected with Max Wasa and have shared our conversation below.

Max , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

The music industry is an ever changing landscape. When I started in the 80’s it was a very label heavy format. Where the label made an investment in the artists but the artists was in debt to the label for the bulk of their careers. I wanted to make a company that was for artists by artists. As much as the artists puts in is what they get out. It is a huge risk for the company but I feel like it is more of a partnership with the artists rather than a power grab.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I was lucky enough to be born into a family of musicians,engineers,producers and leaders. With an early education in classical music, I spent my days studying not only the many instruments I played but gaining knowledge in our family recording studio. Followed by a higher education and a fierce determination to succeed as a woman in a very male dominated industry.
I am very proud of the work that my team at Liquid Music Group,llc has been able to accomplish and look forward to the success of all our artists.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

As an artist myself,I had to unlearn the old style of doing business in the entertainment world and use social media outreach to boost sales and pr for our clients.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I believe that reputation comes with self understanding. When you know that what you do came from many years of study and experience it helps build your brand.
