Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Max Parisi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Max, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I had the knowledge that I have today when I was younger and just starting my career in the photography and videography industry, I would have started building a network earlier on and putting myself out there more in order to show case my skills and what I could bring to the table. Over the course of the years I have helped bring attention to these small businesses/brands (that I have worked with) to a wider audience through story telling and video content. That being said, I would have talked to more business owners in my area and ask to see if they would be interested in having any form of content created for them that would ultimately help their business grow and get exposed to a wider range of viewers (sometimes you even have to offer services for free in the beginning). This is something that I have learned, that you need to put yourself out there more and showcase what your capable of, because you never know who might benefit from your work as a creative.

Max, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the youngest of 4 and each one of my siblings have an eye for creativity; however, my love for photography and videography grew to what it is today. Initially it all began with drawing, painting, and building things with my hands, but over the course my love for technology congregated with my love for creating things. That’s when I first decided that I would buy a camera and see what I could make, perfecting the skills of knowing how to use a camera and all of the gear that goes along with it, teaching myself how to use Adobe programs to better captivate my images and/or videos that I create. Now, throughout my photography career I look for brands and business that I have a strong interest in and that’s where I tend to look to see how else I can improve there marketing to reach a broader audience. This has allowed me to become the primary photographer/videographer reference for a local wedding venue in my area, I have helped realtors sell properties much faster through my work, I’ve helped small businesses such as an auction house attract more people that have become steady customers for her business. I just want to let people know that I truly have a passion for my work and that I care about helping others through my services that I offer. what one must know is that there needs to be some sort of relationship and interest amongst these projects as well as with the people you are working with. If you can find this then both parties will benefit crucially. It isn’t a competition, but rather a collaboration.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
So far it has been Facebook and Instagram! through these platforms I have been able to share my work and create ads within them that has helped gain new recognition from others that I would normally have not been given the chance to introduce myself and my services that I offer. This has ultimately allowed me to gain a new audience outside of my local area.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
The power of collaboration! This is not a competition and the more you can acknowledge that then the more you will see a greater positive output. You can always learn a thing or two from another creative and vice versa. We are here to work together and create magic for these brands and businesses!
