We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mavry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Mavry, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I wish I had launched my music career sooner. I was caught up in something before that I really thought was fulfilling my heart’s desire. I didn’t realize until the last two years that I’d only been burying this dream of being a music artist. I was never truly satisfied in life until now, though the decision to start fresh on a new career path has carried many challenges with it. I think starting earlier would have dramatically helped my self-esteem. I always had such low self-esteem but now that I’m creating music, my confidence has been restored.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Mavry, a pop artist with a deep passion for creating music that connects on a human level. My journey into music started as a personal quest for healing and expression. Growing up, I witnessed the devastating effects of addiction on my family, and I turned to songwriting as a way to process those emotions. Over time, what began as a personal outlet transformed into a mission: to inspire others to embrace their authenticity, face life’s challenges, and find hope.
How I Got Into Music:
I’ve been playing and writing music for over a decade, but I started pursuing my dream of being a music artist professionally at 28. It wasn’t an easy decision—especially with the odds stacked against me—but music felt like the one thing I couldn’t live without. It’s where I find purpose and where I connect most deeply with others.
What I Provide:
I write and produce electropop music infused with dreamlike, emotional storytelling. My songs often explore themes like love, loss, self-discovery, and resilience. Beyond the music itself, I offer services like Story to Song, where I turn people’s personal stories into bespoke songs, creating a unique and deeply personal gift for them.
What Sets Me Apart:
What makes me different is the way I blend raw vulnerability with vibrant, anthemic soundscapes. My music has modern ’80s vibes but stays rooted in introspection and authenticity. I’m not just creating songs—I’m creating safe spaces for people to feel understood and inspired. My discord community, The Sanctuary, is built around the idea of preserving the analog soul in a digital age, inviting fans to connect beyond just the music.
Problems I Solve for Clients/Fans:
I offer music that helps people feel less alone, whether they’re navigating personal struggles or simply looking for meaning. For clients of my Story to Song service, I provide a chance to hear their own emotions reflected in music—a uniquely cathartic and empowering experience.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
I’m proud of my resilience. Starting a music career later in life with limited resources has been a test of passion and perseverance. I’m also proud of my growing community of fans who resonate with my message and my work. My recent song, Feel Alive, helped me reach over 2,000 monthly listeners—a small but meaningful milestone that fuels my determination.
What I Want People to Know:
At the heart of Mavry is a commitment to authenticity. I want potential fans to know that I create music and experiences that are deeply personal, yet universally relatable. Whether you’re listening to my songs, joining my Discord server, or participating in my Story to Song service, you’ll find a reflection of life’s beauty, challenges, and hope. I’m here to remind people that even in the darkest moments, there’s a spark worth guarding.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission is to create music that serves as a companion for people navigating life’s complexities. I want my songs to provide solace, inspire self-discovery, and remind listeners that they’re not alone in their struggles. At the core of my creative journey is a deep desire to connect—both with myself and with others—and to offer something that feels genuine and meaningful.
My goal is to craft art that resonates emotionally and invites people into a space of vulnerability and reflection. Whether it’s through my music, live performances, or personal interactions, I want to foster a sense of community where people feel seen, heard, and understood.
Ultimately, I see my journey as a way to preserve the human spirit in an increasingly digital and disconnected world. Every song, story, and connection is a step toward building that sanctuary—a place where authenticity, emotion, and creativity thrive.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my view, I think that society often just “does what it’s told.” Clever and brute force marketing tends to dictate who and what we give our attention to, shaping trends and tastes in ways that often overshadow truly meaningful work. As human beings, I think it’s important to be intentional with our attention and seek out the artists and creatives who are carrying unique and positive messages into the world.
Art has the power to challenge, inspire, and connect us, but too often, the loudest voices in the room drown out those who are creating work with depth and intention. To support a thriving creative ecosystem, we need to shift our focus from what’s most marketed to what’s most meaningful. That means taking the time to discover and uplift artists who are offering something genuine, not just something trendy.
For me, supporting artists isn’t just about consuming their work—it’s about engaging with it, sharing it, and creating opportunities for those voices to be heard. Society can do this by encouraging platforms and systems that allow for discovery beyond algorithms and that reward authenticity over virality. We need to value art for its emotional and cultural contribution, not just its marketability.
Ultimately, art is a reflection of humanity. If we want a world that is rich in empathy, understanding, and beauty, we need to be intentional about the artists we choose to support. When society actively invests in the creators who are making a positive impact, we all thrive.
