Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mavrick Vo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Mavrick thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I started acting when I was in freshman / sophomore year of high school in a theatre class. I was elected randomly to take that class, and little did I know on my first stage performance for a musical called “Snow White & The Prince.” I found out that acting was one of my hidden talents, the following year we had a special guest who did stage combat, and she taught us many things from punches, kicks, reactions, and weapons. I was a very quick learner, which grew a much bigger passion towards the genre of action films. Soon after graduating high school, I transition myself to acting / stunts for action films, and created my own film production called “StreetNerds Productions”, where we create live action fan films from comic books, anime, and video games!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Mavrick Vo, I am an actor, stunt man, director, and overall content creator. I started in the film business back in 2016 creating my own film company called “StreetNerds Productions”, where we create live action fan films from comic books, anime, and video games. How I got into the film business which it all started in high school taking theatre class then grew to love action films that consist of the genre of comic books, video games, and anime. The things that set my productions apart from others is by being able to create fight choreography’s that are very different and a high level intensity to engage many audience when they watch our films. Especially the hard work that I am very proud, which is my current / first fan feature film called “Nightwing Rebirth.” Where it’s a DC fan feature film that I am starred in and played as “Nightwing” which as an actor I do my own stunts and fight choreography alongside my co-stars and my stunt team!

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My goal / mission on my creative journey as a actor / filmmaker creating fan films is to one be able to work for the higher up studios such as Marvel, DC Comics, or Disney! My love and passion for these industries are endless as a fan, so it would be an absolute dream come true to be part of it one day!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect as an actor after putting 3-4 months of training for the role such as “Nightwing” in “Nightwing Rebirth” a DC fan feature film then 9 months of filming. Being able to see the DC Comics / Nightwing fans reaction, full of joy after watching the trailer at one of the biggest conventions in NC “Galaxycon”, has given me such a humbling and bless experience. I can’t wait and imagine to see the fans reactions to the full film itself, that will be out next month!
