We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maurice Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maurice, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Gifted Clothing is a brand that represents the underdogs and the risk takers who go above and beyond to obtain their dreams ad goals. “GIFTED” is an acronym that stands for Get Inspired From The Everyday Dream. Our Brand is designed to Inspire people of all color to never stop dreaming!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Maurice Brown, born & raised in Toledo, Ohio Better known as “The Mud” ! & where I’m from is a very small city, with very limited opportunities & room to grow or dream here. I grew up on the Northside of town, & growing up I was big on fashion at a early age & started designing my own tee shirts at the age of 15-16 representing our side of town we grew up on. Throughout some struggles over the years, I started to take it more serious & commit my self to going further & creating a luxury street brand that my friends/family can continue to wear in a different light! My goal is to inspire people all over, family, friends, & all around supporters that everyone has a “Gift… You just have to be inspired by something to unlock that given talent!
Gifted Clothing Brand is a retail service that provides top quality products such as, clothing & accessories!
What separates our brand from others, is that we provide only limited & exclusive releases from our brand. Everything is top tier quality & gives you a significant look!

I’m most proud of seeing the feedback I have gotten over the last 2 years. I went from selling out the trunk of my car, to collaborating with a few store locations since we been in business. I’m very grateful for the growth!

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Well, back in 2019 I worked full-time in the manufacturing field to start up my business. I would work 40 hours regular schedule, & also put in 20 hours of overtime during the weekends to get extra money to maintain investing into products & other services I needed to get going.

How’d you meet your business partner?

Me & my business partners grew up together. We all met back in school & growing up in the same neighborhoods. We all had similar styles coming up as kids & use to be on top of all the latest & greatest brands & shoes coming up. Back then I was always the one more particular & “picky” is what they would call me! lol I always told my friends when we was younger that I would start my own clothing line one day! So as we got older… I started selling T shirts with our side of town we grew up on… Later on in life I kept going with it & told my friends that its time to start an official clothing brand. They saw the vision with me, & here we are!
