Alright, Maureen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I have a dream of a new paradigm of sisterhood being ushered in and women relating to one another with nonjudgment, compassion and utmost support. My mission of Mystical Sisterhood is that women learn to connect so deeply with themselves and the unconditional self love that is created spills over onto their relationships with other women and individuals in their lives. With a willingness to discover our divinity within, we will more easily experience it with one another and our connection to the mystical Universe. I hope that the legacy created within Mystical Sisterhood will be that of delivering messages of love, connection, joy, and healing to humanity. I would wish that I would be remembered for creating spaces and conversations for women to explore both their human experience and soul’s journey.
Maureen, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It is often said that we come to an awakening within our lives either through a natural unfolding or a substantial life event that rocks your world. For me, it was the latter and came in the form of a breast cancer diagnosis in 2018. Having to face decisions that required me to go within for the answers and learn how to lean into my intuition and authentic answers like I had never done before. Through my own process of finding my own answers, I pursued coaching to support others in finding their own truths. I now support individuals seeking clarity and peace in midlife. At midlife, we often face challenges in the form of relationships falling apart, seeking new career paths, unraveling our family and cultural conditioning, and health issues (amongst others)! The answers are not often clear and I guide clients to finding the truth and wisdom that lies within and is found when we learn to be with our emotions, meet ourselves with compassion, and find abundance and joy within. Through my training in spiritual psychology, I work with clients in getting to know themselves as a soul having a human experience and learning how life is always happening for us, not to us. In addition to my one-on-one coaching, I founded Mystical Sisterhood, the podcast, in 2023 to support individuals in connecting to the mystical inside and all around us!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
For as long as I can remember, I loved all things wellness. I devoured articles on healthy living, making great food, and loved any movements that involved living from a mind-body-spirit perspective. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the traditional surgeons and oncologists recommended certain treatments, I looked at myself and thought “Am I really going to choose this?” I had clung to my belief in the body’s ability to heal naturally for some time and yet I was faced with a new unknown and I wanted to be well again. So I had to lay down what I thought I knew to be true about myself and begin anew. I truly began again and made decisions based on what was right for me at that time, not who I thought I was. Wow, this was such a revelation that I could begin again! In the end I chose the path of Western medicine combined with complimentary therapies like reiki and acupuncture. I defined my own path and continue to overturn stones in my life when something needs to be considered in a new way! I love doing this with my clients as well!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I love networking with professionals across many businesses to build my clientele as well as old fashioned networking! I have been a part of many groups where we meet one another, learn each other’s businesses and act as referral partners of sorts. Through these avenues, I have been able to build a client base from around the country. Given the flourishing of work in the virtual world, I am able to work with clients far and wide. The podcast and creating the Mystical Sisterhood private Facebook group has been a great source to offer my services both individually and in groups.
