We recently connected with Maureen “Mo” Faul and have shared our conversation below.
Maureen “Mo”, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
As a former healthcare executive and a current career coach, I’ve always been acutely aware of the industry standard – the cookie-cutter approaches, the relentless focus on tactical skills, the notion that professional success is only achieved by conforming to a narrow, masculine-leaning definition of leadership. And I’ll be honest, it’s never sat quite right with me.
I believe that the true path to breakthrough success lies not in trying to fit into someone else’s mold, but in having the courage to blaze your own trail. And that’s exactly what I set out to do with my Soul Powered Career Coaching methodology.
Rather than focusing solely on resume optimization, interview preparation, and other surface-level strategies, I start by helping my clients reconnect with the essence of who they are. We dive deep into their values, their passions, their unique gifts – the very things that make them irreplaceable. Because in my experience, when women lead from that soulful place of authenticity, the tactical skills and career advancements tend to flow naturally.
I’ll never forget one of my earliest clients, Nadia. She was an accomplished IT executive who had always been told that she needed to be more “out there,” more extroverted, to succeed. But through our work together, she came to fully embrace her quiet, thoughtful leadership style. Rather than trying to emulate the stereotypical “alpha” executive, she leveraged her measured presence and strategic thinking to command respect and drive transformative results.
The same goes for Jen, another client who had struggled with being overly emotional in the workplace. By learning to detach and see the “corporate game” for what it was, she was able to navigate office politics with grace, advocate for herself unapologetically, and achieve a level of career fulfillment that had previously eluded her.
These stories reflect the heart of what sets my approach apart. I don’t believe in trying to fix or “improve” my clients – I believe in helping them uncover, celebrate, and fully step into the leaders they were born to be. Because when women operate from that soulful place of authenticity, the results speak for themselves.
Clients don’t just get career advancements – they get profound personal transformations. They don’t just build impressive resumes – they cultivate the unshakeable confidence and sense of purpose to leave a lasting legacy. And ultimately, they don’t just excel at their jobs – they become catalysts for a new era of conscious, values-driven leadership.
In a world that so often tries to box women in, I’m proud to be charting a different course. It’s not always easy, and it requires a willingness to challenge the status quo. But for me and the incredible women I work with, there’s simply no other way. This is the revolution we’re here to ignite – one Soul Powered breakthrough at a time.

Maureen “Mo”, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As the founder of Soul Powered Career Coaching, I’ve dedicated the past 10 years to guiding professional women through transformative breakthroughs in their careers and lives. My story begins in the corporate world, where I rose through the ranks to become a respected healthcare executive. But it was a personal challenge – a breast cancer diagnosis in my 40s – that ultimately led me to my true calling.
Lying in that hospital bed, recovering from a double mastectomy, I was forced to confront a harsh reality: I had become disconnected from the very essence of who I was. I had learned to tuck away my intuition, my empathy, my soul power – all in a misguided attempt to fit into a world that often viewed those qualities as weaknesses, rather than strengths.
But in that moment of reckoning, I rediscovered my authentic self. I reconnected with the young nurse passionate about helping cardiac patients heal, the girl who joyfully taught neighborhood kids to ride their bikes. And I knew, with unwavering certainty, that this was my true purpose – to help other women break free from the limitations that had once constrained me.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of guiding over 2,200 clients through this transformative journey. Through my 12-week Soul Powered Career Coaching program, I’ve helped women from diverse backgrounds and industries reclaim their power, shatter glass ceilings, and create the joyful, impactful careers they know they’re destined for.
What sets my approach apart is the way I seamlessly blend practical career strategies with deep, soulful work. Rather than just focusing on résumé optimization or interview prep, I help my clients reconnect with their authentic values, unlock their intuitive wisdom, and step into leadership in a way that is uniquely their own.
The results have been nothing short of remarkable. My clients have achieved rapid promotions, negotiated life-changing salary increases, and used their platforms to drive positive change within their organizations and communities. But beyond the external markers of success, they’ve experienced profound personal transformations – a renewed sense of purpose, unshakable confidence, and a deep, abiding connection to their soul’s calling.
I’m most proud of the fact that my work isn’t just about individual breakthroughs; it’s about sparking a revolution. A revolution in how we define success. A revolution in what true leadership looks like. A revolution in the very culture of our workplaces and communities.
When women lead from their souls, rather than trying to conform to outdated archetypes, the ripple effects are profound. They create environments infused with greater empathy, collaboration, and purpose. They become beacons of possibility for the next generation. And they prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the future is female – and it is Soul Powered.
That is the legacy I’m committed to leaving behind. And with each woman I have the honor of guiding on this journey, I know we’re one step closer to making that vision a reality.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I was in the prime of my career, serving as a respected healthcare executive leading a large team. The news hit me like a ton of bricks – breast cancer. It was a devastating diagnosis, to be sure, and as I lay recovering from my double mastectomy, something remarkable began to happen. In the quiet moments of healing and reflection, I found myself reconnecting with the essence of who I truly was – beyond the titles, the accolades, the traditional markers of success.
Over the years, I had learned to tuck away my brightest gifts, my deepest passions, my Soul Power. I had adapted to a world that often told women we were “too much” – too emotional, too empathetic, too bold in our ambition. And in the process, I had unknowingly suppressed the parts of myself that brought me the greatest joy and fulfillment.
But now, I could no longer ignore that quiet voice within. I remembered the young nurse passionate about helping cardiac patients heal. I recalled the little girl who joyfully taught neighborhood kids to ride their bikes. These were the truest expressions of my being – and they had been buried beneath layer upon layer of conditioning and compromise.
In that hospital bed, I made a promise to myself. I would not let this experience break me. Instead, I would use it as fuel to reignite my spirit, to reconnect with my purpose, and to step into the fullest expression of my authentic self.
It wasn’t an easy journey, to be sure. There were moments of deep grief, self-doubt, and physical pain. But with each passing day, I felt a newfound sense of clarity and resolve taking root. I began to see my “weaknesses” as profound strengths – my empathy, my intuition, my unwavering commitment to making a positive impact.
I knew exactly what I had to do. I left the corporate world behind and dedicated myself to coaching other professional women through their own transformative breakthroughs. I poured my heart and soul into creating a methodology that would empower them to reclaim their power, shatter glass ceilings, and create the joyful, impactful careers they knew they deserved.
In the decade since, I’ve had the privilege of guiding over 2,200 clients on this profound journey. And with each woman I’ve supported, I’ve been reminded of the awesome power of the human spirit to overcome even the greatest challenges.
Resilience, I’ve learned, isn’t about stoicism or grinding through adversity. It’s about having the courage to face our fears head-on, to lean into our vulnerabilities, and to emerge from the darkness with an unshakeable resolve to live and lead from the fullest expression of our truth.
That is the legacy I’m committed to leaving behind – not just for my clients, but for myself. Because at the end of the day, the most profound markers of success aren’t the titles we hold or the accolades we earn. They’re the ways in which we inspire others to step into their own limitless potential, to embrace their scars as badges of honor, and to use their gifts to change the world.
That is the resilience I carry within me, forged in the fires of my own struggle. And it is the resilience I hope to pass on to every woman I have the privilege of supporting on their journey.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
As a high-achieving woman navigating the corporate world, one of the most profound lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that I constantly needed to prove my worth and capabilities. It’s a pattern many professional women can relate to.
The backstory begins early in my career, when I was climbing the ladder and quickly making a name for myself. I was the go-getter, the one who always volunteered for the toughest projects, who worked tirelessly to exceed every goal and expectation. On the surface, it may have looked like I had it all together – the stellar performance reviews, the promotions, the admiration of my peers.
But the truth was, I was driven by an insatiable need to demonstrate my value. I had internalized the message that as a woman, I had to work twice as hard to be taken half as seriously. So I poured my heart and soul into every task, often to the detriment of my own well-being. I was terrified of making mistakes or falling short, because I knew that any weakness or vulnerability would be seized upon as proof that I didn’t belong.
This mindset followed me even as I rose through the ranks, becoming a respected healthcare executive leading large teams. I continued to overcommit, to micromanage, to try to control every aspect of my domain. And while it yielded results in the short term, I could feel myself burning out. I was always exhausted, always stressed, always driven by that nagging fear of not being enough.
It wasn’t until I faced my own health scare – a breast cancer diagnosis in my 40s – that I was finally forced to slow down and reflect. Lying in that hospital bed, recovering from a double mastectomy, I had a profound realization: I had lost touch with the very essence of who I was. In my relentless pursuit of external validation, I had buried the parts of myself that brought me the greatest joy and fulfillment.
That was my watershed moment. I decided then and there that I would no longer allow myself to be defined by other people’s expectations or by a narrow, masculine-leaning definition of success. I would reconnect with my intuition, my empathy, my soul power – and I would lead from that place of authentic wholeness, no matter how uncomfortable it might feel.
It wasn’t an easy transition, to be sure. I had to unlearn decades of conditioning, to quiet the voice in my head that told me I had to work harder, do more, be better. But with each step I took towards self-acceptance and self-trust, I felt a profound sense of liberation. I no longer needed to prove anything to anyone. I simply needed to be the fullest expression of who I truly was.
It was a profound lesson, to be sure. But in unlearning the need to prove myself, I unlocked an entirely new realm of purpose, impact, and fulfillment. I discovered that when women lead from a place of authentic power, rather than trying to conform to someone else’s vision of success, the ripple effects are profound.
That’s the legacy I’m committed to leaving behind – not just for my clients, but for myself and for all the women who will come after me. Because the truth is, we don’t need to work harder or be better. We simply need to have the courage to be ourselves. Everything else will follow.
