Maureen , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

The Magical Mundane Life was born from the idea that even the most mundane tasks can be seen as magical. After years of struggling to conceive and create a family, I now see folding my toddler’s laundry as magical. It’s something I dreamed of doing for years. I also believe that somedays can feel like a fairytale while others are routine. Together they create balance and that’s something I’m always striving for.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I’m Maureen, owner and creator of The Magical Mundane Life. I share mommy and lifestyle content on my website and across all social media platforms. I started creating content online just after graduating high school in 2009. I was looking for a new hobby and fell in love with making Youtube videos. My YouTube channel started as a beauty channel and quickly evolved into an online diary. I shared my engagement to my now husband, the process of buying our first home, trying to conceive, my heartbreaking miscarriage stories, a failed fertility treatment, starting the process to become foster parents, fostering two little boys and eventually both of their adoptions. After we adopted our youngest son I found out I was pregnant naturally with another little boy. I now I share my life as a pregnant mom with two toddlers. I capture every day moments and fun times we have while vacationing. I also enjoy sharing mom tips and tricks that I learn as I navigate motherhood myself. I truly have shared my highest highs and lowest lows on the internet. My goal is and always has been to share openly in hopes of helping others feel less alone in their own personal journeys.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I have always shared my personal struggles openly and I believe that has naturally drawn people to connect with me and my content. I think it’s important to invest in your followers, I try my best to respond to every comment and direct message. I have gotten to know so many women on a personal level by chatting with them online. I see my followers as friends and try to support them as much as they support me. Staying authentic, I think, is the best way to truly grow your personal brand over time.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

When I first started sharing on social media it was a hobby that I hoped one day would turn into a full time job or career. I saw other creators landing amazing sponsorships and deals with big name brands. I knew if that was my goal, I would truly have to put myself out there. I had to be authentic and build a following from the ground up. I had to learn how to market myself and pitch myself to brands. Once I found my niche as a mommy blogger, The Magical Mundane Life blossomed. I now work as a full time influencer/content creator. I work with small local businesses as well as national brands. I continue to stay authentic to myself and my brand and only work with companies that I truly love and feel comfortable promoting. It took years of hard work to build a business that generated a full time income. I have to credit most of it to the amazing men and women who have connected with me online and have supported me through it all.
