We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maura Allard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Maura, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
At the end of 2020 I sensed I was in burn out. I always felt I lived my life in some state of low level anxiety but this felt larger and it was. Since 2014 I had been climbing the ladder in real estate and by 2020 I was licensed in 2 states, obtained my broker license, specialized in working with Senior Citizens and had assembled a team of 3 agents, 1 assistant and 1 social media whiz. From the outside it looked like I had it all and for a long time it worked until it didn’t.
I was also witnessing an alarming amount of people who I had just recently moved into homes suddenly NOT happy with their home and wanting a change in the middle of a pandemic. You see they had never really been shut inside their homes before. When forced to live there day in and day out many people said it just didn’t feel like home. I noted this in the back of my head as I felt there was more to this. In 2021 I had a very difficult client who I was judging. On the way to show the property I looked up the sky and said to the universe please remove this feeling of judgement from me, I hate how I feel. I kid you not when I walked into that empty house the house started speaking to me. It stated “clean me, save me”. I got to work cleaning and my judgement was gone I was on a mission to save this house and I did, it sold that day!
Now I’m scratching my head about what I heard and why me? I would start paying more attention to energy and get certified in holistic feng shui and take foundation and advanced classes in BioGeometry. My ability to feel and sense energy in people, land and homes was coming online.
At the beginning of 2022 I decided to do something extreme. I decided at the top of my career to walk away and I also decided to leave the state of Massachusetts where I had lived for over 50 years to move to rural eastern North Carolina. I traded city living for rural living and I have never looked back.
I opened Wind, Water and Wisdom in January of 2023 and I have been working on building my energy business ever since. I have reset my nervous system 100 percent, my physical health has returned and I feel a sense of calm I did not know was possible.
I also now practice intuitive real estate and work with Realtors interested in pricing properties based on the vibration of numbers and clearing properties of any residual energy. If a buyer or seller wish to work with me they have to understand that I will be tuning into the energy of the home, land and my client to find the best scenario for them.
I keep learning and growing and recently I have had new energetic gifts emerge that I know will bring about more gifts I can share with my clients.
I stood at the precipice and jumped and I it is one of the best decisions I have made. My world keeps unfolding in beautiful ways.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After a bit of a spiritual awakening in 2021 I headed the call to learn more about energy. I got certified in holistic feng shui and took both the foundation and advanced classes in BioGeometry. I inhale everything I can in regards to energy and how to feel it and work with it. As everything is energy!
In a world where there is so much stress I work to help people learn to balance and harmonize not only their energy but the energy of their home. I believe that are homes are energetic extensions of ourselves. If we are off, then are homes are off and vice versa.
I have the ability to clear homes remotely, visualize chakras and balance them remotely, I create customized essential oils and sprays through downloads from source that are precise and personal to my client, I offer oracle card readings, I can help buyers, sellers and Realtors in regards to pricing of homes based on the vibration of numbers. I can also help buyers and sellers pick the correct home for them based on the energy of the home and land. Feng Shui consultations and biogeometry consultations are also available remotely and in eastern NC. I hope to be offering some new energetic services this fall.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I’m all about organic building on social media but that being said it’s not for the faint of heart nor is it easy. It requires consistency, repetition, content creation and to get out of your head.
I think for me in this business my greatest challenge was finding my authentic voice and to be honest I’m still finding it and probably always will be. I was use to showing up on social media as a successful Realtor and now here I was as an energy healer it seems I’m sure to many I had really done a 180 and I had.
I think finding a schedule and sticking to it is key. I post Mon-Friday on FB, IG, Linkedin, YouTube and TikTok. My greatest followers are on FB and YouTube.
Video is important, switching it up is important. Engaging the audience every once in a while is important.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The growth of my new business has been slower than I would ideally like. Whenever I begin to waiver the universe delivers something miraculous to keep me going on my path. In fact I’m quite sure now I can’t go back. I believe I have a mission and a message and that is what I am here for. I have found what I have been looking for all my life and I have to have patience, I have to believe and more than anything I have to keep showing up every day doing one small thing to push the needle forward.
