We recently connected with Matthew Wolfhardt and have shared our conversation below.
Matthew, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Early in my career, I struggled to get the exposure I needed for my initial brand. I had the knowledge needed in that industry, but I wasn’t getting the exposure I needed. I returned again back to college to earn a degree in business management. And, eventually, I became my own first client!
Witnessing the challenges faced by small businesses is difficult, especially because I have personally experienced the sleepless nights and long hours that come with building a business. I deeply understand their drive and goals, and it has fueled a passion to support new and small businesses on their path to success.
Empowering others with knowledge, resources, and support to keep moving forward is very gratifying. In many situations, people don’t know their options and hesitate to change. Once they recognize the power and possibilities of brand building and brand awareness, it becomes a partnership. They know their product or service very well, and we know ours. Together, we work towards their growth to meet the goals they’ve set.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My educational background includes graduating from a design institute and later pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Having lived in Southern California for many years, I was exposed to a thriving environment for new businesses, diverse perspectives, and extensive networks. This experience allowed me to gain a broad understanding of business and interact with a wide range of business people.
I found there to be a two fold problem within the the industry. Many marketing agencies don’t know how to market small businesses. because they miss the uniqueness of a small business and the issues faced. Additionally, new or small businesses can face limited marketing budgets, lack effective brand strategies, or fail to recognize the potential harm of ineffective implementation. And because they are spread thin, they avoid spending dollars where it really counts. Together, these two scenarios leave small business at a loss.
Making small or moderate size businesses our target market has given us the detailed expertise in supporting small business America.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Prioritizing relationships over results may be surprising to hear from a businessman and entrepreneur, but allow me to explain. I am not suggesting that results are unimportant. On the contrary, results are vital for the success and growth of your business. But, connecting with others is key for the success of your brand.
Building relationships is perhaps the most important skill an entrepreneur can acquire if they want to grow a successful company. The ability to acquire, maintain, nurture, and grow relationships is a skill, and one to be developed sooner than later. I’m referring to those skills of transparency, honesty, loyalty, and accountability. All to often these characteristics are overlooked and underestimated, but these are what truly elevates a your brand from being just okay to being spectacular.
I spend a great deal of time on the phone or in Google meetings with clients. I want them to see us as approachable and available. And, the more time invested in these conversations, the better they feel about entrusting their company to us.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Not everyone wants help, and it can be disappointing to see potential brand growth diminish because the owner didn’t or couldn’t see the value of brand exposure through strategic branding. For many reasons, I have a giving personality and find great joy in seeing others succeed, but I’ve had to learn to stand back and watch someone choose a path that I believe will not end well.
Business owners often want quick results and don’t understand that building a solid brand takes time. They miss the “quality over quantity” aspect. And so, it becomes a matter of educating and redirecting them toward a more productive method. Thus, the reason for building those relationships of trust, honesty and transparency.
