We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Matthew Tyciak. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Matthew below.
Matthew, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge in the music industry is gate keeping. Most artist that have the sauce try to turn that sauce into profit without just sharing knowledge that could help other artist be successful like them. It’s crazy how competitive an industry that doesn’t really need competition is, there are too many people in this world and too many ways to get money for people to be gate keeping. Everyone knows that knowledge is power and bigger artist like to use that as leverage.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I served in the military from 2012-2021 although I still made music within this timeframe it wasn’t until I got out and found my self lost with a strong urge to really pursue music. I was living in SC at the time and had a drastic change of life in personal regards and moved to Florida to be closer to my 3 boys and my parents. That’s when music became everything and I’ve been putting everything into since 2022 and have gone from 3k followers to 12.3k. Spotify monthly listeners of 2.4k.
