We recently connected with Matthew I Mosley and have shared our conversation below.
Matthew, appreciate you joining us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
Due to the content I use to convey my metaphors combined with the esthetic of my overall brand, alot of ppl at first glance don’t take me seriously but of course that changes once they see the skill set n hustle I put into my career
What I learned is if u work without the need of validation you’ll always go far
Matthew, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those reading, hi I’m the Gamer Not A Gangster known as GR3YS0N I am a hip hop artist based out of bethlehem PA
For about ten years I have been makin song primarily using anime, video games and comic books as references to convey my message in my music while also performing at various shows around the country
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect to me is the connections I made thru my music and the journey I had
If u told me ten years ago I would know so many talented ppl n ppl would see my music as inspiration I would laugh at u
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I think non creatives don’t understand why a creative might be so sensitive,
Everything we make is like our babies frfr, so when it comes to any song, verse or even hook I take serious cuz I created it I put the blood sweat and tears into what I made so when someone causally dismiss it it’s insulting cuz it ain’t easy tryna entertain the masses while conveying our thoughts and feeling in our art
