We recently connected with Matté and have shared our conversation below.
Matté, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I’m definitely happy as an artist because it feels so natural and like what I’m meant to do. Growing up in a musical family, creativity was always around me, and it shaped how I see the world and express myself. That said, I do sometimes wonder what life would’ve looked like if I’d had a more ‘normal’ childhood or pursued something completely different. It’s not regret, just curiosity. But even with the ups and downs, I can’t imagine not making music. It’s a huge part of who I am.

Matté, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember; my whole family is musical, so it was just natural. I really got started when I sang at my 7th-grade chorus concert. My mom posted the video on Facebook, and somehow, a record label exec saw it and asked me to send in a demo. That led me to my first studio session and from that moment, everything kind of changed.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is taking an idea that lives only in your head and turning it into something real that you can hear, see, or feel. It’s not just about people liking it (though that’s always great); it’s about bringing a vision to life exactly the way you imagined. That process of turning thought into form, emotion into sound, that’s the magic for me

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Yes, they don’t seem to get the why? But if I could explain it to them simply, I’d say it’s like wearing glasses. Some people put them on and suddenly everything comes into focus; that’s what creating feels like for me. It gives my life clarity, purpose, and meaning. Not everyone sees it that way, and that’s okay. But just because they don’t see the vision doesn’t mean it’s not real to me. It doesn’t mean my vision isn’t clear.
