We recently connected with Matt Silveria and have shared our conversation below.
Matt, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Early in my journey of founding Fount, I believed I had to be a jack-of-all-trades in my industry. I thought I needed to master everything—lighting, camera movements, directing talent, sales, producing. While those are all valuable skills, I’ve come to realize I’ll never be great at every single one of them. Recognizing my strengths as a solo business owner has helped me identify where I can bring in specialized contractors, allowing me to focus on my core expertise.
This shift in mindset reminds me of what Steve Jobs referred to as “thinking differently.” Sure, I could try to handle everything on my own, but I’d likely burn out, losing the drive to continue. Instead, I’ve accepted that I don’t need to be an expert in every aspect of filmmaking—and that’s okay. It’s time to let the specialists do what they do best, so I can concentrate on bringing more business through the door.
This “think different” mentality is as much about creativity as it is about being proactive. You have to want to succeed so badly that you start innovating—finding ways to do things better than the competition. It’s that relentless, pounding-the-pavement attitude that will get you where you want to go. We’ve all heard the saying, “hard work pays off.” But it only pays off if you’re willing to be uncomfortable for a while.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen. And for me, that growth isn’t just about scaling my business—it’s about becoming more focused, more strategic, and more confident in what I bring to the table. Every step forward is a reminder that it’s not about doing everything—it’s about doing the right things.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I began my journey in filmmaking right out of high school, nearly ten years ago, without ever attending college. I taught myself everything about filmmaking through books and online videos, spending countless hours mastering the craft. Over time, I expanded my knowledge and experience, leading me to launch my own production company in 2023. We are a full-service production company, meaning we handle every aspect of the filmmaking process—pre-production planning, production, and post-production, including color grading and editing.
At our core, we work primarily with hospitality, sporting goods, and consumer goods brands. We specialize in creating a wide variety of video content, including commercials, brand stories, social media content, and photography. What sets us apart is our dedication to making sure your message and vision come across clearly and authentically. We believe that the stories we tell are really about the people behind them, and we care deeply about connecting with those people. We think differently about how stories should be told and how to get your message out in a way that truly resonates with your audience.
I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients and the joy of getting to know people. Filmmaking has allowed me to travel to places and meet people I never thought I’d encounter. That’s the beauty of the industry—it’s always changing, and I am always learning something new.
We become partners in the storytelling process. We are here to help craft your message and bring it to life through film. We’re not just about delivering a product; we’re about building a relationship and helping you connect with your audience in a meaningful way.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the messages I receive from clients after a campaign launch. The excitement and the sense of accomplishment they express make all the hard work worthwhile. Hearing how the content has helped elevate their brand or connected with their audience reminds me why I love what I do.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
We genuinely care about brand identity and the success of each campaign. Creating content that truly resonates with specific audiences is what keeps us moving forward. We craft engaging stories, bring fresh ideas, and ignite visions—making it the heart of everything we do.
