We were lucky to catch up with Matt Amsden recently and have shared our conversation below.

Matt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I started Rawvolution in 2001 with a goal of serving the finest and most vibrant living foods to Los Angelenos right in their own homes. The mission soon expanded to offer the same meals nationwide.

Rawvolution creates fully-prepared meals that are completely organic, fully plant-based, and totally alive! Our ‘Raw Box” includes two fresh-pressed juices, four gourmet entrées, four generous sides, and two delicious low-glycemic desserts. The Raw Box is designed to provide one person about four to five days of lunches and dinners. The menu changes each week so there’s always lots of variety! Rawvolution is the first and only to serve raw, vegan meals nationwide and we’ve been at it since 2001.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Being unfailingly committed to sourcing only organic ingredients and the highest quality ingredients as well as our longevity in the marketplace.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

We started incredibly small , serving only a few clients a week and grew slowly but surely.
