We were lucky to catch up with Mason Pace recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mason, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We are in a day in age where most people are afraid to truly love out of fear of heartbreak To commit out of fear of desperation
To care out of fear of disinterest
To dream out of fear of failure
To explore out of fear of exclusion
To feel out of fear of vulnerability
There is nothing in this world that should be suppressing the nature of human beings, and it is my mission to prove that you are powerful.
I write about the heaviness and hardships of life, but with a sense of encouragement and drive, chanting that you are sacred and can do whatever your heart sets you to do. I emphasize that you shouldn’t be like everyone else, and that you are special in your own way. You are important. You are heard.

Mason, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Gibson Guitars endorsed mystic metal / dark rock artist with a touring band out of South Florida. I am also an FAU graduate, producer, recording engineer, show and tour organizer, and natural marketer. I have been performing with a band for close to 10 years, starting in the cover/bar scene and then making my way into the original rock/metal scene in South Florida. I sing and play guitar with my band, but I also know how to play piano and bass. In 2019, Gibson Guitars invited me to represent their brand after showcasing for them at Summer NAMM in Nashville.
I wrote and released my debut album ‘Whateverland’ in 2018 and my EP ‘King of Hearts’ in 2021, followed by two driving singles ‘Mister Van Gogh’ and ‘Storm of Lies’. My band and I started going on independent tours circulating through Florida and then embarked on three nationwide tours starting in 2022. We have opened for Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, Vince Neil, Ace Frehley, Jared James Nichols, and more.
Regarding my experience in recording, I learned how to use Logic Pro and Pro Tools at age 16 and have worked on around 100 projects out of my home studio and multiple other studios in Florida.
As a performer, what sets my band apart from others is our top-tier showmanship and musicianship. With each member having around a decade’s worth of shows and tours with numerous projects under his belt, we are rightful professionals. Also, our sound is grandiose, epic, and melodic, yet still driving, intense, and heavy. We are the heaviest band to play Margaritaville Hollywood, but we appeal to many different types of audiences all across the United States.
As a producer/recording engineer, I set myself apart by not only being fast, efficient, and super cooperative, but also meaningfully contributing to the creative aspect of each project and using my special tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years to make each project sound big and beautiful.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Oh absolutely. I call this the dreaded U-Haul story…The day we were supposed to leave for our first out of state tour, the U-Haul trailer that we reserved wasn’t available. We had a show that night so I demanded that they give me a trailer no matter what size it was. They gave me this 6×12 trailer that was bigger than the size of my car and had a busted brake system. We took this very dangerous trailer and hit the road because we had no other option. Throughout the first half of the tour, we dealt with car problems where we had to go to multiple Ford dealers all up the coast and multiple U-Hauls to try and get the trailer swapped out for something safer, which seemed like an endless agony. Finally we got the trailer swapped out just in time to navigate through Philadelphia, only for it to then get gated into a church parking during our set. Luckily I was able to keep calm and work out each issue and by halfway through the tour, everything was going as it should have.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Treat your team nicely and fairly, never give up, and keep calm. Celebrate the hell out of your successes together and discuss when something doesn’t turn out how you thought it would. Being transparent and fair, yet stern and strong is key. Your team will respect you if you are confident in your ideals while still adhering to their needs and appreciating their contributions.
