Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mason Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mable, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Only a year in, I have already had the opportunity to work a lot of show that I have been very passionate about. I feel as though each experience has been able to teach me something different. I look forward to seeing what I’m able to make the experience I’ve got.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’d say it all started when I was in Jr high. I grew up in a small town with not much to do, and after trying all of the possible sports on me, my parents had me try theatre instead. Ever since then I have gone out of my way to stay creatively involved in any way that I can! I wen to college for Theatre/Playwriting as well as a school for Audio Engineering once I moved to KC so that I could be involved in the best way I could! It feels like I’ve been living a dream this past year from all of the work I’ve been able to do.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Perfectionism. It got in my way everyday. And it still does when I dont keep it in check. It is one thing to give your all to your work, but it is another thing to obsess over your work to the point of ruin the work or yourself in the process. There is a heathly and and unhealthy way to express your creativity in my opinion.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Seeing how your work effects other people. Even just seeing that it gets someone’s attention really means a lot to me. There’s just nothing that matches being a part of the art in my opinion. It’s really the only thing I find Important at the end of the day.
