Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mason Aksamit. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Mason thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
When I was in my first semester of College I decided to leave before the end. I knew it wasn’t what I wanted for my life, and it caused a lot of turmoil in my family. To this day my grandfather does not speak to me. But because of that decision I figured out how to test out of 3/4 years of my Bachelor’s degree earning nearly 90 credit hours with tests that give you direct college credit. I was able to receive my Bachelor’s degree at 19 for $10,000. I have since written a book and tutored 15 people on how to test out themselves saving a total of $1,500,000 on college tuition. I know if I could make my way onto a major news station, I could save millions of people thousands upon thousands of dollars on tuition and start destroying this ridiculous student debt crisis of $1.57 trillion.

Mason, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been an actor and filmmaker since I was 12. My goal is to look for holes in society; faults that limit us in our abilities to improve our lives. That is what gave me the ability to test out of my bachelor’s degree so quickly. I spend most of my time writing screenplays and acting in films and theater. I also tutor people in 2 quick sessions that set them up to test out and graduate in no time with NO student debt.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
CLEP, DSST and Straghterline. All 3 sources give you so many resources to help test you out of your degree fast and cheap.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
That I had to fix my mind before I could start pursuing what I wanted to. As a creative, my mind is always a place I felt really secure, and in many ways that held me back in my life. When I started living fully out in front of myself as much as possible is when my life starting turning much better. Everything works out for me now, and it didn’t use to.
