Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mashi Salomon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mashi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
I don’t know that I would call my career and life path a ‘job’ per say. I think of it more as a ‘calling’. In essence, I didn’t really have a choice but to choose the path that I am on, and I am really happy to do so. I always knew that I was going to go into the healing art, however choosing the path there wasn’t clear cut. From an early age I took care of people with special needs and ended up going for a degree in Psychology. I found myself working typical social worker and case management position. Although the jobs I was working where fulfilling, I had always felt like something was missing; namely the spiritual aspect. Rewind to Mashi when she was 12 and you would see a little girl obsessed with horoscopes, spiritual health and questioning our place here on earth. As well, I was blessed with a queen 6th ‘sense’ about people. I could look at somebody and almost read their mind, see their woes and feel the pull to guide them. When I was 31 years old I finally started delving into the mystics and magic in which I live today. I picked up my first Tarot deck, studied how to interpret and apply natal charts; and finally started applying all of my wisdom and knowledge in order to help others. A friend of mine helped me come up with the business name Light and Lavender Energy. I started off by reading Tarot for others, as well as Natal Charts. However, as things evolved I felt the pull to open up a storefront in the little mountain town I live in (Durango,Co). I now sell retail products such as Tarot decks, candles, books and sage; as well as conduct intuitive readings in the back room of the shop. I feel so grateful for all that has brought me here!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I would say that my main focus as a healer for other is tapping into ‘Transpersonal self improvement and empowerment’. Out of the many many clients which I have served, a theme has definitely stood out. Most people will leave a session letting me know that they had already knew deep inside all that I had told them. They only needed a third party, or an objective observer, to somehow affirm what it is they intuitively knew. My focus when it comes to my services lies in my innate understanding of the human psyche, as well as the human soul. Spirituality and Psychology are not to be separated as science and pseudoscience, however they should be melded together as a perfect combination of body and soul work. I have worked with clients who felt ‘directionless’ and helped them by looking at their Natal Chart information (essentially the map of the soul) as well as pulling tarot cards. These tools help me to put the puzzle together of each individuals souls purpose, and to pinpoint the energy of where they might be feeling ‘stuck’. i have also worked with couples, by either doing a synastry reading (natal chart comparison) or pulling cards around their relationships energy. However, many times I am able to sense the nuances and undertones of the underlying problems, and have helped couples by bringing them to the surface for them to try and heal. My goal is to look at every person as an individual soul with whom I can help try and at least bring one step closer to fulfill their life’s purpose or Karma.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
There is something to say about the worlds shift into this intense age of technology. The ‘personal’ touch on things has been replaced with digital content and a barrage of social media’s messages. When clients come to see me they know to expect full and empathetic presence followed with loving energy and encouraging wisdom. This personal touch accompanied with my innate knowledge of energy, psychic messaging and astrology; has helped my clients feel comfortable recommending me to a friend, family or loved one.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have not always felt comfortable being in the position that I am now. I grew up in a an Ultra Orthodox religious environment where my gifts of seeing, intuiting and believing where squashed down. Being the youngest and only girls in a family of six meant being drowned out by the more male and macho energies. It was not until years later, and many lessons whereas I began to love and accept myself fully. It was during this time of growth that I learned to start trusting in myself and my own abilities. The feedback I started to receive from clients also helped solidify my intuitive and psychic abilities.
