We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Masean Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Masean below.
Alright, Masean thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Back in high school, I was driving home late one night after rehearsal. The air was thick with summer humidity, and everything felt still. My best friend Alex sat in the passenger seat, and we were blasting music, as usual. Then, a song came on that struck a chord—”Love Me or Love Me Not” by Ravyn Lenae. The smooth beat and her raw voice felt like a personal message just for me. We fell silent, allowing the song to take over.
In that moment, I realized that music wasn’t just an activity; it was my calling. That song awakened a desire to create something that could move others the way I was moved. It was a transformative moment, igniting a passion to pursue music not just as a hobby but as a career.
That night changed everything. It set me on a journey of forming a band, recording albums, and performing on stages around the world. Every time I hear “Love Me or Love Me Not,” I remember that pivotal moment—the night the music called to me, and I answered.

Masean, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an up-and-coming singer-songwriter, I blend EDM, pop, 80s synth, and a touch of R&B soul to create music that resonates with both the heart and the dancefloor. My journey began in my bedroom with nothing but a microphone, a cheap keyboard, and a whirlwind of emotions. After losing someone close to me, music became my refuge and my way of helping others feel less alone.
I write and perform songs that are vulnerable, electric, and authentic, capturing themes of love, loss, healing, and self-worth. I want my fans to know that I see them; I’m just like them, chasing dreams and transforming pain into beauty. My commitment to authenticity sets me apart; I embrace my flaws and believe that this honesty fosters connection.
I am proud of how far I’ve come on my own and even prouder of those who share that my music has helped them through tough times. Above all, I want listeners to know they are not invisible — their stories matter just as much as mine does.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being an artist, particularly a singer-songwriter and producer, is deeply fulfilling for me, as it involves transforming intangible emotions into tangible realities through music. It begins with a subtle, persistent feeling that guides me to create melodies and lyrics, culminating in the moment when everything aligns perfectly. The real magic occurs when a listener resonates with the song, feeling understood and connected even in their solitude. Music provides a powerful means to embrace emotions, heal, cherish memories, and inspire hope. As a producer, I find joy in helping other artists discover their unique voices, playing a vital role in their creative journeys. For me, it’s not about accolades or chart success; it’s about crafting songs that touch hearts and create lasting experiences. If my music can bring light to someone going through a tough time, every challenge faced in the creative process is worthwhile. This mission fuels my passion to keep creating, sharing, and connecting with others.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
There’s a profound purpose behind everything I create. As a singer, songwriter, and producer, my intention is to use music to connect with those facing genuine struggles—I’ve navigated my own fair share of challenges. Life doesn’t always offer peace, clarity, or a glimmer of hope, but music became my sanctuary when chaos surrounded me; it was my anchor during times when I felt invisible or lost.
What fuels my creativity is the belief that a song I craft might be a guiding light for someone in darkness. I want my music to provide comfort, reminding listeners that they are not alone in their toughest moments. Pain can transform into strength, and healing often begins with just one lyric or a single melody.
I pour my heart into my work because I understand the challenge of navigating through life’s noise in search of joy. That’s the essence of music for me, and now, I aim to share that gift with others.
