We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marzmade Tattoos. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marzmade below.
Alright, Marzmade thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Thank you for having me, Marzmade Studios X Service and Ink are my babies which intertwine in the tattoo world. Marzmade Studios is my mobile tattoo studio that I built pre covid to continue to tattoo and travel. It started with an old church 40 ft school bus that sat for 20 years. I drove to pick it up and Installed new batteries and It started right up to a few years later we have a 2020 dodge ram converted to a tattoo studio. I chose to go mobile because some of my clientele cant leave their houses and it’s a different vibe. Service and Ink is my non profit geared toward providing free tattoos to wounded veterans and a form of peer to peer mentorship and therapy. I was iagnosed with PTSD after serving 12 years in the military with multiply deployments. I was sent to a mental health program to help with my PTSD, anxiety and depression and while in the program I thrived in an art program they had onsite. I decide Art can help me fight my demons and I was always able to draw so it would be a good fit. I turned to tattooing after a friend of mine died and never looked back.
Marzmade Studios is to provide quality tattoos and a luxury experience in a state of the art mobile tattoo studio.
Service and Ink donated free tattoos as a form or peer to peer therapy to other wounded veterans by a wounded veteran. We also provide mentorship and guidance since we’ve been in many positions of other veterans.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Marzmade D’Martian (Made on Mars the Martian) and I’m a 4x combat veteran and purple heart recipient turned tattooist and entrepreneur. I’m from a low class black family and decided want to make a name for myself and break generational curses. With the help of my girlfriend whom is now my wife of 20 years we built all we have and are raising our 3 black boys in a new direction than which we were raised. My wife has been my beacon of light from poverty to war to where we are today, thriving.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Earlier in my career I was having identity issues with who I was and wanted to be as an artist. I started to try to be like and tattoo like people I thought were making traction in the art and tattoo field. When I went that route I feel like my progress slowed down even backtracked. I spent many night pondering and having self worth and doubting issues until my wife spoke with me. She explained that I’m unique and the people that like me for me and want my uniqueness will come. can be you better than you is my new mantra . So I reverted to my style of art and what I wanted to do and I began to gain momentum once again and I continue to persevere forward regardless of the circumstance.

Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
I prefer to use cash to buy and build business so you don’t have to worry about overhead and If the business fails you only lost funds but business credit is much needed as capitol in the word if you don’t have access to straight cash. Many minorities don’t even know there is a such thing as personal credit and business credit because I sure ass hell didn’t. My wife and I had to navigate and learn about personal credit as well as business credit. Credit makes the work go around and it also speaks on your character and trustworthiness on how you pay it back and commit to a cause if that makes sense. We try to invest in other black and minority owned businesses to help the diaspora and balance the scales of wealth.
