We recently connected with Marzenka Kwintera and have shared our conversation below.
Marzenka, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is called “Space Escape,” which was published in Dazed. It was a surreal, emotionally charged shoot inspired by space exploration, sci-fi stories from my childhood, and the idea of escape into imagination.
Together with an incredible team of creatives and fashion designer Tim van den Heuvel, we brought this vision to life in a single day at a unique housing complex in Den Bosch, Netherlands — a location that looked like it belonged on another planet. The setting perfectly mirrored the futuristic mood we wanted to create.
What made this project truly meaningful for me wasn’t just the outcome, but the whole process: bringing together talented people who believed in the vision, creating something magical out of passion, and pushing through the challenges of organizing everything with limited resources.
As someone who has always found inspiration in fantasy worlds — especially while growing up with dyslexia — this project felt like a personal full-circle moment. “Space Escape” is not just a visual story, but a reflection of my journey as a dreamer, storyteller, and photographer.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Marzenka Kwintera, a multidisciplinary visual artist and photographer based in The Hague, Netherlands. My work explores themes of identity, memory, body, and transformation through both analog and digital techniques. I specialize in artistic portraiture, fashion editorials, and conceptual photography, always guided by emotion and storytelling.
Photography became my voice — especially growing up with dyslexia, where visual expression allowed me to explore the world in my own way. Over time, I developed a signature style rooted in natural light, raw textures, and collaboration with makeup artists, stylists, and models. I aim to capture intimate moments that celebrate individuality, diversity, and human connection .
I’m proud to say my work has been published in international magazines like Dazed, Vogue Portugal, Harper’s Bazaar ,Glamour and L’Officiel . I was recently selected as one of Fresh Eyes 2025’s 100 most talented photographers in the world . What sets me apart is my intuitive, emotion-driven approach and deep respect for everyone I work with — I believe the best images are created through trust and shared vision.
Through my work, I want to inspire others to see beauty in the unusual, the imperfect, and the deeply human. I want future clients, collaborators, and followers to know that every project I create comes from the heart.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the freedom to turn my imagination into something real — something others can connect to emotionally. Photography allows me to tell stories without words, to explore beauty in imperfection, and to create moments that feel timeless.
I also deeply value collaboration. Bringing together a team of passionate creatives and seeing our ideas come to life is one of the most fulfilling feelings I know. It’s not just about the final image — it’s about the process, the energy, and the connections we build along the way.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I started sharing my work on Instagram with no grand plan — just a desire to connect with people through emotion and visual storytelling. I stayed consistent with my artistic voice, using natural light and raw, expressive portraits. Over time, my audience grew organically as people resonated with the emotion in my imagery.
What helped the most was being authentic — I didn’t follow trends, I followed feeling. I also engaged with my community, supported other artists, and treated my platform as an extension of my creative world. My advice: stay true to your vision and don’t be afraid to be different.
