Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to MaryAnne Wendt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi MaryAnne, thanks for joining us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
I enjoy vacations! As a solo entrepreneur who works 7 days a week, I feel it’s crucial to take time off and enjoy some downtime whenever possible. If a 7-9 day family vacay doesn’t work for financial or scheduling reasons, then mini trips are great! I live in Southern California, with so many options just a car ride away. San Diego or Palm Springs are fun options. My favorite mini trip is in Baja Mexico. Less than an hour South of San Diego, and I could be enjoying a lobster lunch by ocean in the village of Puerto Nuevo in Rosarito Beach.
MaryAnne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My business is called OC Doc Signer. I’m a Mobile Notary and Loan Signing Agent. I enjoy serving others with their documents and helping with the closing process when signers are selling or buying a home. I grew up in Irvine, California and most of my business is in Orange County. That’s why I branded myself as OC Doc Signer. It keeps me focused on my area, but I will accept appointments or deliver documents to escrow offices outside of OC when needed.
I specialize in providing efficient and secure notary services for a wide range of documents, including legal papers, real estate transactions, trusts, estate planning, affidavits, and more. Whether you’re an individual seeking to notarize a single document or a company in need of comprehensive loan signing services, I’m here to simplify the process for you.
I’m also an Account Executive for VIPlatinum Escrow, providing smooth and secure transactions for my clients. I enjoy working with realtors and brokers. I work with an amazing team and we take care of everything from the moment we open escrow to closing day. I’m grateful for the owners and escrow superstars Nima Shojaei and Juana Gonzalez for the opportunity to represent their company. Providing VIP service is what we do.
I’m proud of being able to offer a variety of services in Notary and Escrow needs. I enjoy what I do and feel blessed to be in this field.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
As Mobile Notary and Loan Signing Agent, I market my business to local escrow companies and realtors. There was one escrow company in particular that I really wanted to work with, VIPlatinum Escrow. I loved that they were just a few minutes away from my home. I also loved their branding. I’m all about VIP service. I knew in my heart I’d work with this company someday. *manifest* My marketing strategy started with following them on Instagram. I engaged on a few posts and sent DM’s. I was happy to receive interaction with them. Soon after I reached out to them and I let them know that I was in the area and asked if I could stop by and introduce myself to them. I brought by a little plant and met the co-owner Juana Gonzalez. A few weeks later, I brought by some holiday themed donuts. By the end of December 2022, the CEO and co-owner Nima Shojaei contacted me and offered me a position as their Account Executive! I was thrilled. I enjoy working with realtors and I have the privilege of being the Notary at the closings. You never know where your marketing journey will take you. It’s a blessing to work with Juana and Nima.
