We recently connected with Mary Lowery and have shared our conversation below.
Mary, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
As a young child. I was sick a lot, so my mom brought me a coloring book. Instead of coloring in the book, I would draw the picture then color that instead. I think that’s where I found my love for art.
Mary, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My teenage years is where I learned the skill in high school. After high school I stopped painting. My focus was on other things. I became a single mom raising my 5 children. I didn’t start painting again until my late 30’s. I used my craft as away of escaping to my peaceful place. Everything else I’ve learned was self taught.
After a few years I decided too take my art to a professional level. I opened up an Art Center. I think this moment made me most proud. I gave myself a year in an actual building. Then I decided to go online. I’ve been on line ever since.
Not only am I an Artist. I’m also a Party planner/Decorator.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding for me is working with the children. Introducing art to them. I would give a speech that talks about everyone is an artist. You just have to believe in your work.
My Motto is “Visualize and Believe”
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal one day is to have my work in an Art Gallery or museum. I love what I do. I want to share it with others on a larger scale.
