Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mary Lowery. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mary, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
My Most meaningful project I working on is called Amerika, It was during the time when George Floyd was killed.
I’d had been following it on the news of course like everyone else.
Praying over Our black and brown males . Especially my son and grandsons.
The lord had given me vision for a few projects.
So one day I was talking to my sister on the phone and that’s when he showed me a vision of a black woman crying into a ripped flag.
I literally stop talking to my sister and tol God I’m not going to paint that.
My sister was like who are you talking too I said God.
“I’m not painting that. “
Needless to say when I got off the phone it was an urgency to paint it and share . I literally cried the whole time.
And 2 more pictures came after that .
It’s the most meaningful because of the message it had behind it.
That we are living in Amerika not America . They do t care about our children.
I still have the painting. I do share it from time to time. And it touches people’s heart each time I do.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
When I was a little girl I stayed sick all the time . As a result I was inside a lot. So my mother would buy me coloring books and crayons, instead of me coloring the picture in the book . I would draw the picture from the book and color that . That’s where my love of art really started . Everything I learn was self taught or just a God given talent. took art class In high school. That is as far as the education goes. I learn a few things watching YouTube videos.
I stopped painting for a little due to having my children and life’s challenges.
I didn’t start back painting until a little later in life.
I had done some freelance work for awhile . In 2018 I had decided to open my own business Artisticrain Creative Art Center . Where I taught children and adults. Painting canvas to wine glass.es. I gave myself a year if it did not workout I would close the center and just do online courses . So that what I did.
In the mist of that I got into party decorating with my children. We do everything. All five kids have something to bring to the table.
My done is a executive chef, one of my daughter is a license bartender .,the rest of us hand the backdrops decor etc .
What sets me apart from others . I listen to make sure I’m giving them the best service. when given an assignment I I do pray about first . We are gimlet , professional and affordable.
I’m most proud of
Being able to run a full time business and hold it down this long. And sharing my art with an elementary school in Philly during black history month. which I believe that is one of my passions speaking to the children.
I love what I do and I put that in every project I’m given to do .
I love my clients and my fans. I believe everyone is an Artist . Art is what you feel inside it’s an inspiration.
My modo is Visualized and Believe!
How did you build your audience on social media?
So when I started out I didn’t know a whole lot about building followers on social media. I met my publicist Leesia Media in 2018 she has taught me so my and help me get my brand where it is today . And I’m still moving forward.
One of the My. Things I’ve learned is my self Worth. Knowing who you are and believe in yourselves is very important. Because if you don’t then how do you expect anyone else too .
It’s part of my modo
Visualize and Believe
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding thing for me is sharing my art with others. And teaching other how to start reaching their potential .
