Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mary Cate Hoffman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mary Cate, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
Truly I love my job and what I do. As an actress I get to explore different “jobs” through my work. I just play those careers on screen and that is so exciting to me. I truly love being on stage and on camera. That’s always been the case for me. I’ve been in front of an audience since the age of 3 and I love every minute of it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an actress, singer and dancer. I, also, create content which I find extremely fun, creative and challenging at times. Acting has always been something I enjoy expanding on. Memorizing scripts, getting into character and even changing it up again twelve takes in. Being directed is such an amazing thing really because it gives you this opportunity to see what the character you have studied in a new light. I, also, love content creation because, just like with acting, you are constantly learning and growing. I’m honestly proud of every project I’ve done because each one is a new experience, a new audience and a chance to delve into a whole new world.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I feel like the best thing you can do is be supportive. With social media comes a lot of opinion rather than word of mouth and a few critics. Social media can also be positive and the best way to support creatives is to get that positivity out there.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect is the reaction from the audience. I love making people happy and making people laugh. I think one of the coolest experiences is being able to do that for so many people at once.
