We were lucky to catch up with Mary Briones recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mary, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you manage your own social media?
WiselyWelded is my baby so I am super protective of things being shared/ posted. Which is why I do all of the social media. PLUS I enjoy that part of the business as well. I love getting to chat on Facebook and Instagram with people who follow me and answer any questions they may have!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started WiselyWelded a few short months after having my first baby. I don’t know what I was thinking when I already work a full-time office manager position and just had a baby. But I’m so glad I wasn’t thinking! I knew I loved the idea of permanent jewelry so why not start my own business. WiselyWelded has been such a blessing not only for financial reasons but also for my mental health. It allows me to get some much-needed time for some adult conversations. I love getting to meet my clients and be part of their stories. My WiselyWelded babes truly are THE best and are die-hard supporters!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I love this question! I take so much pride in wanting start to finish the process with WiselyWelded to be an experience. I never want someone to feel like I just want their money. Doing so starts before the weld. I am the one chatting and answering all of your questions on social media and email and connecting so when we finally meet to get welded it’s like we already know each other. I also try and make it right, meaning if something happens to your piece of jewelry I’m happy to help repair/ replace it. The clients I have are the absolute best and I even have a few repeat clients who can understand the addiction. I just love them!
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I’m currently working on adding to the WiselyWelded team and hope that what I do/ have learned in my full-time office manager position will be helpful. I believe in other’s success, we are all on the same team with a common goal, and not being afraid to jump in and help! I will be the first to help. I’ve been told that I am a “developer” meaning I want to help others around me be successful. Positivity is always helpful as well.
