We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mary Blake a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Mary, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Hello, I am the CEO of PANDA Health patient generation systems. My journey in this industry began with a passion for healthcare and a desire to improve clinical outcomes. I started my career as a healthcare professional myself, working closely with both physicians and patients to understand the challenges healthcare providers face in reaching and treating the right patients. Witnessing these struggles led me to explore innovative solutions, and that’s when I founded PANDA Health by Ecosite.
At PANDA, we provide cutting-edge patient generation systems that make it easier, better, and faster for healthcare providers to connect with the right patients on autopilot. Our products and services leverage advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to identify and target potential patients who would benefit most from a provider’s services.
We pride ourselves on solving critical problems for healthcare providers. Our platform streamlines patient acquisition, reduces administrative burdens, and optimizes marketing efforts, resulting in improved patient outcomes and increased efficiency for healthcare practices. By automating the patient generation process, our clients can focus on what matters most – delivering quality care to their patients.
What sets us apart from others in the industry is our unwavering commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. We invest heavily in research and development to ensure our systems stay at the forefront of technology, offering our clients the best solutions to stay competitive in the ever-changing healthcare landscape.
To potential clients, followers, and fans, I want them to know that PANDA is not just a company; it’s a movement towards better healthcare. Our dedication to ethical practices, data security, and patient privacy sets us apart as a trustworthy partner for healthcare providers. We believe in the power of small businesses and independent professionals, and our mission aligns perfectly with yours to support and uplift these hardworking individuals.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always been a person that noticed correlations of favorable development or inconsistent trends. By industry trade, I am a Clinical Research Associate, which is a type of medical auditor for facilities conducting clinical studies. In short, we ensure that physicians and their facilities are conducting studies in accordance with FDA regulations and are in compliance with local Good Clinical Practice guidelines. The prevailing complaints that physicians and MedSpa owners had which attributed to delays, was the inability to locate potential patients and a poor online representation. This has been a prevailing reason for years ongoing. However, I did not realize the magnitude of the problem until during a time with other colleagues comparing notes, we realized that across the U.S. most clinics had this problem. The average person would have shrugged this off, documented it in their report, and gone on about their lives, but Mary Blake is not an average person. I had the ideation of coming up with a solution to address this issue and strategize ways to improve the process. I reached out to a few colleagues to pitch the idea to them and soon Panda Health Agency was created as a portal managed by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals to help improve patient recruitment and website presence.
Our most unique quality is that rather than purely money our driving motivation is the accumulation and aggregation of data and the plan to change the way people see the industry. From a mundane necessity to an experience that can be entertaining, informative, and improve the quality of lives for both health personnel and patients. We now have a viable working business model that allows healthcare professionals to make a referring bonuses, and us the opportunity to create innovative customized websites and excel the expectations for patient location and enrollment. Now we have successfully launched and using our referral model already partnered several research clinics and med spas. We look forward to continuing to growth, evolve and offer opportunities to both patients and staff because we are better together, and at Panda Health our solutions are not simply black and white.
I am most proud of the positive impact we have made on the healthcare community. Our systems have helped numerous providers reach their target patients, leading to better healthcare access and improved patient experiences. Additionally, we have empowered small and independent healthcare practices to compete with larger corporations, leveling the playing field for all.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The most difficult and often controversial lesson that I have had to unlearn is the notion that education alone will typically not allow you to attain the amount of success that is often implied. While in both undergrad and graduate school there is such a heavy emphasis on grades and appearing to be the smartest person in the room. As I began my professional career, I saw that many of the physicians I worked with were also teachers, or owned other clinics, or were small business owners and upon inquiring they all told me that due to their own student loans they had to seek out secondary steams of income.
The further I got the more I saw that number one, a 9-5 job no matter how hard you work or how good you are, you have limited value and are completely replaceable, and number 2, we spend so much time working to help others make money, we spend the most valuable thing we have which is time in exchange for a paycheck just to pay bills, causing many to lose motivation for our passions and other goals we had. Consequently, we miss living up to our ultimate potential.
That very notion inspired me to seek out entrepreneurship for my own aspirations so that I would have the change to create change and influence in a way that is beneficial to all. Jumping onto your own path where you are the primary responsible party is a lot of hard work but when it’s your passion and you have the chance to provide opportunities for others brings so much purpose and quality of life to me.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
There are a lot of aspects about small business that people often kind of jump into with the expectation that there will be a quick return. However, sometimes you can’t out manifest time and hard work. One of the most important factors that has helped me build and maintain a reputation within the healthcare industry is simply time put in dedicated to learning and bettering my knowledge and skills. I have spent years in the industry cultivating connections and furthering my knowledge to build trust and repour. We all want to rush success but it takes time and dedication to really understand and appreciate that way you really have value to contribute back
Perhaps that is what makes being able to step out as an entrepreneur all the more satisfying as I know have the chance to provide services to those that used to help me get to where I am today, and to provide opportunities to others to help them grow and develop their own path.
