We were lucky to catch up with Mary Ann King recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary Ann , thanks for joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
We don’t judge anyone. We give each person a chance to chase their wildest modeling dream. No matter the size, skin color, or sex. We are open minded & very loving to each person as if they are family to us. We do weekly mental health checks to make sure we are all ready for the following week. We are a team together. We don’t leave anyone behind each step a mentor with you.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Mythical Studios 420 is a model training group. We help new models find the freelance way with modeling. No contracts, No outrages prices, No rude or creepy photographers. We educate models from the smallest acronyms to the biggest publications. We guide them each step to share the passion to become more. To be the extra glamours person we share the passion to watch us in magazines. Mythical Studios 420 welcomes everyone.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To make our own magazine line. One that lets everyone be in it no matter the size, shape, color or sex. Mythical Studios 420 wishes to have a whole brand to the people who started with us the first 100 people will have a extra spot here forever with us. We are making a placement on our sites just for them.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Not everyone will support you. Some will reject you some will even disown you. That doesn’t mean give up. always follow your dreams & know when they try to come back you made it pass their beliefs. Keep swimming & never stop dreaming of a happy place.
Once when Mary was starting this she had some friend who said no matter what we will support you. Same with Mary’s mother; No one believed we could make it 2 Years running & full control & can still have a personal life. Mary was disowned & lost many friends but all was worth it. We have made a company with yearly calendars & monthly poster & promotion shoots.
