We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marvin Bonheur. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marvin below.
Hi Marvin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Very early my parents explained to me how difficult life will be as a black person and that unfortunately I would have to run faster and jump further than other people to sometimes receive the same rewards. So very early on I harbored a rage to win and a desire to do justice.

Marvin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was discovered and published as a photographer following my first exhibition which exhibited my photographic work on the neighborhoods in which I grew up in Seine Saint Denis.
Today I work with several companies on advertising campaigns. I generally bring my perspective and my experience with respect to inclusion.
I am proud to present myself as one of the most fashionable photographers of my generation and sometimes be a source of inspiration for younger people from social classes than me. But also to be a reference for many young people who document the life of the Afro-Carribean dispora.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The freedom to make one’s imagination a form of reality and to even be able to monetize it to live from it, also the ability to enter a thought visible to all and to direct or influence emotions with creations.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, I would like to carry out an activist type life work for rejected and discriminated communities. My goal is to gain reputation and allow my power to open doors to the excluded from the elite world.
