We recently connected with MARVALE and have shared our conversation below.
MARVALE, appreciate you joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
I’ve done music pretty much all my life, it’s come easy to me writing my rap based on what I saw and what I lived. However, I have done a 180 in my music to a faith based rap and positivity. Many can’t understand it and it may be misunderstood but I have a purpose to positively impact our youth and give them an alternative to what they are listening to now.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always loved music and the many genres in it. It was no surprise that I wanted to do music. As a young kid I would make stories in my head that I would later put into my music. Music was my therapy. My upbringing was that of your typical kid so I used the love of music to keep me going. I’m a christian rapper. I write about praising God and of the things I’ve gone through to inspire others, especially the youth. In a world where poor mental health is on the rise, I want to give people hope. Keeping it real, not cursing, positivity in my lyrics with a fire beat sets me apart. I’m honored to be able to express my love for God and love for others. I want others to know that I am not perfect and I’m here to be an instrument and use the gifts He has given me to help others around me and reach as many as I can.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
When I make my music I want people to hear the word of God. There are many people that have never opened a bible. Their are people out there that have an idea of a religion and its not its a relationship between that individual with their Heavenly Father. I want my music to reach the masses but if it reaches just one person I have done my job and purpose in life. Staying humble, staying positive, adding God daily into my life is necessary for me to accomplish this mission I have been in trusted.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
For many years I was rapping about all the wrong things. I was cussing and using negative language that wasn’t the best example to the youth. It came to a point where God did not allow me to finish a song let alone perform as I once did. This went on for many years. I started going back to church at the same time I started going to a bible study with my girlfriend. The next few years I went through a growth period of building a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I married my beautiful wife and started to get into my music again. However, this time the words coming in my mind were flowing filled with His word.
