We were lucky to catch up with Marty Markenson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marty thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The birth of my business was more of an evolution than a sudden decision. While immersed in the AR/VR sector during the day, my nights were consumed by entrepreneurial ventures and experiments. One day, noticing a local real estate developer gaining momentum on social media, I was struck by an idea: why not elevate their brand with custom Instagram filters and GIFs? When that filter unexpectedly went viral, racking up millions of views, I realized I was tapping into a burgeoning market demand.
After that first customer people were reaching out for their own branded GIFs and filters. Each customer I tried to leave with an amazing experience and that lead to more customers, more opportunities and more ideas.
After finishing each ordered I asked myself how could I make this process easier, faster and more valuable. I’m still on that horney today.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My background is in technology and engineering but have always explored different business ideas. It sounds obvious but the real change in my business took off besides when I shifted from experimented with ideas I found interesting to focusing on services that customers wanted.
Social media is transforming how businesses connect with customers but the secret is out and its getting harder and harder to standout on social media. The GIFs and reels I create help realtors get noticed on social media without requiring them to do extra work. They seamlessly integrate into existing content, capturing attention and creating a brand connection
One of the achievements I’m most proud of is how Cavelit has grown organically. We try to leave every customer, has led to another, building a network of brands that trust us with building their brand. To our potential clients and followers:you’re not just getting a service; you’re partnering with a team that’s as invested in your brand’s success as you are.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Don’t look at followers, likes and comments as transactional. There are real people behind that engagement. If you treat your social media as a way to connect with the people watching your content you’ll go much further.
I try to show up on video and not overthink creating the perfect content. The world wants authentic content that shines a light on the people behind the brand.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The Minimalist Entrepreneur by Sahil Lavingia. Its a different take on entrepreneurship. Great advice for building businesses 1 step at a time and asking yourself is this business setting myself up for the life I want
