Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marty Leon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Marty, thanks for joining us today. How did you find your key vendor or vendors? Maybe you can share the backstory and share some context and the relevant details to help us understand why you chose them, why they chose you, etc.
Great question.
For us, finding the right vendor was all about relationships and referrals. I didn’t just Google someone and hope for the best, we leaned into our network, asked people we trusted, and got real feedback from those already working in the space. That helped us cut through the noise and connect with vendors who were actually capable of delivering at the level we needed.
The deal itself came down to alignment—values, vision, and a clear opportunity for both sides to win. I was upfront about what we were trying to build and what the upside looked like for them. I think they saw we were serious, prepared, and focused on long-term success, not just a one-off order.
If I could do anything differently, I’d tighten up the negotiation timeline. Early on, I spent too much time trying to “perfect” everything before making a move. Now I know: momentum matters. If the deal feels right, don’t overthink it, move quickly and keep communication crystal clear.
Bottom line: don’t just look for a vendor. Look for a partner who understands your goals and brings something to the table that elevates both sides.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the industry through my father, who built an incredible career in fashion. I grew up watching him lead with integrity, hustle, and a deep respect for his clients—and that shaped everything I do today. I’m proud to carry on that legacy and continue building on it for the next generation.
I’m a dedicated husband and girl dad to two amazing daughters (14 and 10), and I’ve got my own little girl posse at home and at work, which I wouldn’t trade for anything. They keep me inspired and grounded, and they remind me every day why this work matters.
We partner closely with brands, boutiques, and major department stores, helping them identify what they need, what’s working, and where the opportunities are. We don’t just sell fashion, we consult, collaborate, and find smart, creative ways to fill the gaps. Whether it’s product, strategy, or positioning, we’re in the trenches with our clients to help them grow.
What sets us apart is our experience and long-standing industry relationships. We’ve spent years earning the trust of our partners by consistently showing up, listening, and delivering results. This business runs on relationships, and we take that seriously.
I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built and the legacy we’re continuing. It’s about more than just fashion, it’s about helping great people and great brands win, now and for the future.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Hands down, trust and consistency. We treat every client like a long-term partner, not a transaction. We ask the right questions, bring solutions to the table, and do what we say we’re going to do. Our clients know we’re in it with them. That level of care and follow-through has built a reputation we’re proud of, and one we work hard to maintain.
I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built and the legacy we’re continuing. It’s about more than just fashion, it’s about helping great people and great brands win, now and for the future.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Definitely. There are a few resources that have really shaped how I approach leadership, decision-making, and personal growth, not just in business, but in life.
Jay Shetty’s podcast, On Purpose, has been incredibly impactful for me. His focus on mindfulness, self-awareness, and leading with purpose has shaped the way I approach leadership and business. One of the key lessons I’ve taken from him is that it’s not about chasing quick wins, it’s about creating a meaningful, purpose-driven impact. The way he integrates wisdom and real-world applications has helped me stay grounded and make more thoughtful, long-term decisions.
Another major influence has been Mel Robbins’ podcast, The Mel Robbins Podcast. Her “Let Them” philosophy has been a game changer. It’s all about releasing the need for external approval and letting people do what they’re going to do. If they want to doubt, criticize, or challenge you, let them. The time and energy you’d spend worrying about others is better used focusing on what you can control. This mindset has given me the confidence to ignore the noise, stay focused on what matters, and move forward with clarity and purpose.
In addition to these, Matt Easton’s sales coaching has been another pivotal resource. His no-nonsense approach to sales, combined with a deep understanding of client needs and how to build long-lasting relationships, has shaped how I handle business growth and customer interactions. Matt’s teachings focus on the importance of empathy, effective communication, and never losing sight of the bigger picture. It’s been invaluable in helping me build stronger connections and bring value to every partnership.
I’ve found that podcasts and coaching like these are a great way to learn in real-time. Whether it’s Jay and Mel guiding me on purpose and clarity, or Matt helping refine my approach to sales and client relationships, I’m always looking to grow by listening to fresh perspectives and actionable advice.
