Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Martin Barrick. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Martin, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is without a doubt my biggest release to date: “Fast Cars & Superstars.” It’s an EDM track I was featured on vocally, alongside the incredibly talented and well-known Italian DJ and producer Cristian Marchi.
What made this project so special wasn’t just the success it saw, it was how it came together. At the time, my artist project was still growing, and Cristian reached out to me directly to collaborate. Not only did he ask me to do the vocals, but he also gave me an official feature credit, which was a huge gesture of kindness, professionalism, and respect. It meant a lot coming from someone of his stature in the industry.
The track ended up exceeding all expectations. It blew up globally, charting across multiple platforms, spawning over 600,000 TikTok videos (including its own viral dance), and racking up close to 20 million streams on Spotify. It even hit #1 in several countries on Apple Music, Instagram, TikTok, and Shazam. The exposure helped grow my Spotify audience to nearly 1 million monthly listeners, and the track is well on its way to becoming Cristian’s biggest release ever.
Beyond the numbers, the experience reaffirmed how meaningful it is when established artists lift others up. Cristian’s generosity and belief in me changed the trajectory of my career, and that’s why this project will always hold such a special place in my heart.
Martin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a music producer and vocalist based in Los Angeles, currently operating under the artist name Reverend Haus. My journey into music wasn’t the traditional path, I actually pivoted career directions entirely and took a leap of faith by enrolling in a music production school in LA. That decision changed everything. It gave me the foundation, tools, and creative space to develop my skills and evolve as an artist.
I started out producing progressive house music under a different DJ name, but as I grew, so did my sound and vision. That growth led me to launch Reverend Haus, a project rooted in Tech House and club music. While I’m known today for my vocal work, I still approach everything as a producer first, vocalist second; which allows me to bring a more holistic, production-aware approach to every collaboration.
Right now, the core of what I do professionally centers around:
* High-end vocal services: for producers and artists that includes full songwriting, vocal recording, processing, and delivering radio/club-ready stems.
* Sample pack and vocal sample creation: I’ve released multiple vocal sample packs with several companies, like Sonic Academy, that have been downloaded and used globally.
* Beat production and topline writing: helping other artists build out full, club resonant records that work both on and off the dancefloor.
One thing I take pride in is the quality and consistency of my professional services. I know how frustrating it can be to hire a collaborator and not get industry-level results. That’s why every project I take on, whether it’s for a major label artist or a rising producer, gets the same attention to detail, clarity, and creative input.
What I’m most proud of lately is the success of my vocal collaborations and vocal sample packs. Seeing my vocal work supported by major artists like Vintage Culture, Loud Luxury, and many others has been incredibly fulfilling. These packs are now being played in front of massive crowds around the world, which is surreal and humbling.
At the end of the day, I’m all about helping people bring their musical vision to life; whether that’s through vocals that elevate a track, beats that hit just right, or samples that spark an idea. If you’re a fan, collaborator, or creative brand looking for something that feels fresh, polished, and emotive; I’m here to bring that to the table!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is the ability to take something that starts in your head; a feeling, a phrase, a melody and turn it into something real that connects with people on the other side of the world. That process never gets old.
As a producer and vocalist, I get to express both emotion and energy; two things that are universal, even if the language or style varies. Whether it’s through a full vocal performance or a short vocal sample that ends up in someone else’s track, knowing that something I created can inspire movement, emotion, or even a viral moment… that’s the kind of impact that keeps me going.
There’s also something deeply fulfilling about collaborating with other artists and helping bring their vision to life. When someone hires me for vocals or uses one of my samples and it ends up elevating their project, that’s incredibly rewarding. It feels like I’m contributing to something bigger than myself.
But above all, the most meaningful thing is watching how music builds bridges between cultures, between people, between versions of ourselves. Being even a small part of that process is a gift I don’t take for granted.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my creative journey was realizing that the part of my craft I never expected to lead, my voice, was actually what opened the most doors.
When I started out, my dream was to be a touring DJ and producer first. I was focused on building tracks, chasing that mainstage energy, and growing my brand in the progressive house scene. Vocals weren’t really my focus, they were just something I did out of necessity to finish songs but I started noticing that people were responding to my vocal work more than anything else. Producers wanted to collab specifically for my vocals. Labels were asking for more toplines. Clients were coming to me because I wrote catchy club bangers.
At first, it threw me off. It wasn’t the plan. I wasn’t really ready for that. I wasn’t super confident in my vocals, tonally. I didn’t LOVE how I produced my vocals; they were just fillers at best in my eyes. But I realized quickly that this was an opportunity I couldn’t ignore. So I leaned into it. I invested in refining my vocal chain, stepped up my writing game, and started offering professional vocal services. I also began creating vocal samples, which completely took off and again ended up being supported by major artists.
Now, vocals are the core of my business and one of the most powerful parts of my identity as an artist. Sometimes the thing you didn’t plan for is the thing that changes everything. You just have to pay attention and be willing to evolve.
