We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Martha Pardo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Martha below.
Alright, Martha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
After years of working in social media, I can say that I generate enough compensation and satisfaction to make a living. Social platforms have enriched things like my quality of life and my perception of success because of the content I’ve been able to create. It wasn’t always like that; of course, in the beginning, there are two essential things you have to work on (although I didn’t know them at the time). The first is to have courage because you certainly have to be brave to expose yourself and create content that you try to gather, and this is the second thing, a community. The primary and most challenging part of this path was to make people find value in following me because followers, like other metrics, matter a lot. Every day you’re going to learn something new in social media. It is that type of learning you will not find in a social media course or workshop; you have to live it yourself, making mistakes, trying different ways of creating or following trends. You will realize that things like credibility are significant if you want to monetize your profiles; when you need to sell a product or make a follower click on a link you are promoting, you must have a reliable, close, and friendly image.
I am still learning that social networks are constantly changing, and you have to be willing to change with them to keep evolving with your content and generate profits.

Martha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Social networks allowed me to express myself at a time in my life when I felt somewhat defeated. I had some knowledge of beauty issues, so I decided to go for that topic, but the differentiating element from the beginning was to accept beauty as something universal by empowering the woman I am to the woman I wanted to follow me. It was a story for me, and it turned out that we became a community in the process.
I don’t know if I solve a problem, or maybe I do, but what I do know is that I can naturally connect with my community, and together we have come up with solutions that help us feel more secure with our nature.
I am most proud of the friendly communication I have with my community. Besides giving me a lot of credibilities that I have also earned by working and promoting serious brands that offer excellent products, guapas4ever is a safe space where we can discuss and debate most harmoniously. That is something that makes me very happy.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Sure, something as simple as being planned and having a strategy that is something I learned over time. People who dare to create content are like social media artists. The process is very emotional, but the organization is critical if you have the opportunity to have a strategy where you can create content that exposes your passion while listening to your community or the community you want to reach. Visualizing your perfect follower is another thing I wish I had known; it helps define your style and reach that customer/supporter you want to interact. There is a phrase that I love “you can be the most delicious and beautiful peach in the world, but there will always be someone who hates peaches” Dita Von Teese is an artist that has a show for a specific niche. For me, that is the success in social networks; understand that if you reach the right person, you can have all the success you want.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
To be able to do what you love, there is nothing more powerful than that. If there is a reason we are in this place, it is to be happy, and working on something you are passionate about fills your life with satisfaction.
