Hi Marta, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I started as an artist with 7 year old. For me was a safe space, protecting me from the adversity. In my early childhood I lived a violent divorce. I was very sensitive child, and I felt invisible. I found relief when I was creating, a sense of conection with god and my inner self.
My Mother encourage me to develop my art skills and imagination.
She enrolled me in Silva Mind Control, to learn meditation in Alpha brainwaves. Was very important for me this training, for visualizing and use better my imagination.
Now I use it everyday, as an artist, connecting my inner word with the outer world.
Using visualizing techniques aloud me to work from the end, is like is already done, I just need to assembly.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born in Spain in 1967 in an Aristocratic Family. My Parents split when I was 2 years old, and my mother raised us alone. My mother was very inteligente strong woman, she made herself working hard selling insurance, door to door. She did very well, creating sales teams and branches with divorce women like her.
Her philosophy of life nothing had to do with my father’s, we learned from her to work hard to achieve our goals.
She sent me to USA, as exchange student. I came to Dearborn, in 1986. This was my most prolific time as an artist.
After this year, I went back to Madrid and Started Fine Art College (universidad Complutense de Madrid).
I was a painter and a Graphic Designer. My first Art show “Peces” was Dec 1 993. And I haven’t stop since ever then.
30 years as An Artist!!
I will celebrate it December 1 of 2023 at Liberal Arts Gallery with a very important Exhibition of my work “Decoding Matter”
Working for important publishing companies in Madrid, during 15 years, gave me a solid background to accomplish my Artwork today.
I returned to Detroit in 2011, and soon I got enrolled at the Fine Art Breakfast Club from Detroit.
I became very productive and successful creating documentary Art Portraits of historical figures of Jazz, Politics and human rights.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I use for my pieces Epoxy Resin, to enhance colors. I wished I could know it before. I apply to all my collages resin to enhance the colors.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
When I was a child , I was invisible, Art gives me the opportunity to be seen, and express what I feel. Is very rewarding to make a positive impact to the collectors.
