MARSHEENA, appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?

I learned how to make candles in March of 2020. I signed up for a Candle Making 101 class & I’ve been making them ever since. I could’ve made my wax hotter versus making it the temperature told to me to prevent holes in your wax as it dries. The most essential skill is placing the wick in the jar properly. I didn’t let anything stand in my way of learning more. I always put my best foot forward in any & everything I do.

My name is Marsheena Riggsbee born & raised in Washington D,C. I moved to Houston, TX in December 2016. For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?

The most rewarding aspect the joy people get when experiencing my candles. I get so much good feedback on how they liked/loved my candles & their peers. It’s truly a PHENOMENAL FEELING.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

In my view a post/shoutout can take your business very far. Just having support from your family/friends & even people you don’t know can boom your business instantly.
