Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marsha Thompson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marsha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
The most important lessons I learned at prior jobs is to take it all in and see what works and what doesn’t work. Being at other companies made me realize things I didn’t want to do as a business owner and things that I felt would help in my success.

Marsha , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
When I was in college a friend invited me to a yoga class and I fell in love and started going every single day. I quickly noticed the benefits of the practice to not my physical body per se but to my mental state. I was able to push thru difficult moments and challenges in a way I hadn’t been able to prior to practicing yoga. Being on my mad reminded me that I could make it thru challenging situations and falling down out of balance actually gives you an opportunity to get back up. I began applying the lessons I learned on my mat to real life situations.
My line of work is hard because you’re always giving, but it is also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I find it a privilege to be able to guide individuals to a better version of themselves, to help them find strength they didn’t know they had inside of them. The first step is to just show up in the room, if you can get to the room then you’ve done the hardest part! Most people believe that you have to be flexible or have a particular body type to do yoga but that is so far from what the true meaning of yoga is about. It’s about being flexible in the mind first, being able to deal with discomfort, distractions, and challenges situations that we encounter and learning how to breath thru it.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped build my reputation among my community was being authentic to myself and not trying to be like anyone else that was already in the market. I did what felt good to my heart and flowed with it.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth. People bringing their friends and family to experience the space because they had an amazing experience themselves.
