Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marsalis Cerdan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marsalis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I pray, once I’ve transitioned from this planet/world, I want to be remembered as a good man. Despite all my shortcomings and mistakes, thats all that matters, that’s what my legacy should be!

Marsalis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Marsalis Cerdan. My business is Quality Improvements, LLC. Early in 2022 I decided to venture off on my own and attempt to not work a traditional 9 to 5 job. I wanted to have the freedom to control my own destiny. I started off working for platforms like Wayfair as a independent contractor assembling furniture for clients. From there I made my own business cards, created a LLC, and recently established my logo. I have officially been in business for a yr and a half, and it has been the most rewarding and humbling experience in the same breath. I love assembling furniture, refurbishing old antique or vintage pieces, or just installing shelves or building sheds for my clients. It’s extremely satisfying to see a home transform. What sets me apart is my dedication to high quality service. No matter how big or small I apply the values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty to all tasks and projects; values I learned during my time in the military.
My plan is to grow my company into a multi million dollar entity with hard work., dedication, and quality service!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy has been word of mouth, which is also considered to be the most traditional. It still reigns true that a good business can become great by people speaking highly of you and referring you. About 80% of all new clients are referred to me by past clients who were extremely satisfied with the work.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Everyday I show my resilience. Growing my business has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done. I have to work the business, market the business, invest in the business, and sustain the business, all at the same time. Wearing all the hats in the beginning so later on I wear only one, CEO.
