We recently connected with Marquita Robinson and have shared our conversation below.
Marquita, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I always give thanks to GOD first and foremost because he gave me strength to keep going and to never give up, even though there were times I had thoughts in my mind to do so. When I came up against negative people around me, deceiving users and people who didn’t want to see me win and be successful. I give special thanks to every client who was and is apart of my management company to help me build a brand and trust me with their vision and career. Major S/O to everyone who supported me throughout this journey who has so much faith in me to get us to the top, all the encouraging words and motivation to keep going. The best thing I have ever done for those who supported me was, I gave an online (Facebook and Instagram Live) awards event (which was called the “MIDWEST ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS” to artists throughout the Midwest area, giving them their flowers for all their hard work and dedication to keep going on their music career journey . I had categories such as Best Male and Female Hip hop artist of the year, Best studio of the year, Best Management Company of the year and ect. Everyday I give Thanks and glory to God and everyone who supports me. This really will be an eye opener for a lot of lessons and blessings. But I know that I wouldn’t change anything I have done or did for the world. Thank you all once again for everything.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I started my management company in March of 2019 which I specialize in artist development to help build a vision to become the next big thing to happen for independent artists, comedians, producers etc. I can’t stress enough on how deep the music industry is and how you can get sucked into listening to other people who don’t have the best interest in your music career. I had so many sleepless nights educating myself with the music business, because I can’t be there for my clients if I don’t know what I am talking about when it comes to business and knowing what they do. This is a business to learn everyday and to understand it, you gotta have knowledge, patience, consistency, and willing to learn different things. This definitely has been a journey for all my ups and downs. I have experienced so much in this industry that will eat you alive if you don’t know anything or how to handle it. It’s a lot of hard work and you gotta be ready for it all. Always challenge yourself for bigger and better things in life. When I came into this area of business I never thought that I would be in a great place for opportunities to present itself for success. I will continue to grow my entertainment management endeavors, I have become the top choice in the cities due to my well-versed knowledge and ability about my clients’ success under my management company. My tenacity can be credited due to humble beginnings and the drive to see the company currently growing legendary. I am always seeking new talent and forming creative connections to evolve my brand for development and growth.My ultimate goal is to achieve and outsource Chilitesmanagement & Promotions while creating partnerships with major record labels and strive to be known worldwide. My dedication and loyalty showed how I value every client and all personnel at chilitesmanagement & Promotions. My future goals are to have artists signed to major label deals, starring roles in movies, overseas performances, major production deals for producers, sell out stadiums for all my clients, ect. I would love for my readers to know that I will continue to build my brand with success and more opportunities for my team. I look forward to all our success with bigger and better opportunities. How did you build your audience on social media?
The best way to build my audience for social media. Just know it took some time over the years but it came easier as I grew. I was proactive in listening and responding to people’s messages. I always gave reasons why people needed to follow me, Like for example, posting content of my clients’ music, videos, music links for all their platforms, and always focusing on customer service (NETWORKING IS THE KEY!). Promote your social media accounts everyday all day.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
The best advice I can give is to manage your time to stay proactive to everyone’s needs for growth. The biggest flex is to stay loyal and respectful to one another. Have a listening ear for advice when needed because sometimes you can build a personal bond when it should always be business, nothing personal. Communicate with one another and stay focused on building your team for greatness. Positive Vibes are the most and always have an understanding with yourself and your team for the impossible of knowing anything can happen good or bad. Continue to reach for success NO MATTER WHAT!
